ActionGT
Hi I am wondering if this is normal or if I have done something to the engine. When I accelerate in 2nd gear the engine hits a limiter at just over 6600 rev and then cuts. With the red line going up to 8000rpm, I would have thought it would have cut out there rather than just after the red line. Any thoughts would be great, it's a UK 55 plate that done 5,000 miles. Thanks

Mathys
Have you tried other gears with more then 6600 rev???? Didn't think so... Nothing wrong with your engine, just the limiter.

Removed
get a UTEC and you'll soon be experiencing higher rev-limits (although if you go over 7k you'll more likely break something soon )

Thanks Welcome to the site mate You can probably take it to about 7300rpm in all gears except 6.... Don't worry, no damage to the engine it cuts 2 prevent this
M13KYF
Try pressing the clutch then move the gear stick up across and up. Relase clutch. It is nice how quick it reaches the limit though. to the forum
