Martin W
Well, Tony Chiili apparently felt my chrome painted Plenum wasn't good enough for his nuts. So 8:30 found me heading over to Sarah and Tony's to do the plenum. Got started about 9:30 took about 1/2 an hour to get everything off most of which was spent struggling to get the throttle body off. It seemed for a while that someone had araldited the bolts in. Anyway, quite pleased with the state of the inside of the plenum no need for a catch can I think About to start At this point Tony popped off to see his dad. And after a couple of hours we got to this So after a little bit of Autosol and time for the Blue Plenum bolts with the larger washers to go back on Not the mirror like finish achieved by some, but very satisfying use of 3 hours or so which included lunch courtesy of Sarah Cheers guys.. This is mere rumour Immy, The catch cans in question are in the design stage at the moment eh Sarah edit: If anyone else does this, make sure you are nowehere near your car at the time I just had to spend 30 minutes gently misting down the car to get rid of extremely fine aluminium dust. dcash5
No offence Martin but you should have been able to get a much smoother finish with 3 or 4 hours work. when I did mine, this was the result after a one hour pass with a wire brush... What kit did you use? Dan

No worries was just gonna offer some tips if you wanted to get it cleaner or chrome like as it looks like you went from a wirebrush in pic 3 and a final finishing mop in pic 5 thats all.... We used a wide and narrow wire brush But I had a lot of crud to get off first. We did try out some of Tony's 3 stage polishing kit But fo rme, Chrome wasn't the objective (It might have been Tony's ) Just to get a clean background to show these Bolts off These would probably suit your bay.
