Hi everyone,

Ive been looking to buy a zed for a while now, and think I've finally found one I like.

Im travelling down to North London tommorrow to have a look at it.

Im no car expert whatsoever, so need a little guidance in what to look out for?

And what to check for?

Its a black 06 plate UK GT spec zed, with 23K on the clock.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers

B

Make sure its got Nissan history, no cllicky rear axle sounds,Bose Stereo CD is not skipping,, dents or dings, kerbed wheels, No accident damage, body panels all line up, Check brake discs for lip/wear, all gears engage smoothly.

Plus more that others will post.

As above plus check tyre tread and make sure they are above 5mm each. A full set is around £400 on average.

And 3 keys !

Full set of discs & pads £600 + but can be around £1000 for a dealer !!!! So check them lips :)

I will certaintly check all those things out.

But doesnt the Bose CD skip on all 350z's???

My mistake its actually south london somewhere, near croyden I think. Have no idea why I thought this was north london.

Its not from a nissan dealership, its from a car trader down there.

Mot is due in June though and i believe its the P3 service at about 27K?? correct me if im wrong?

Check all the electrics work, Wipers, lights, folding mirrors, (if it has them) seat movements etc

(my CD skips most days but only for the first minute or so)

Make sure it has the lock nut to remove the wheels and correct paperwork!

Good Luck and let us know how you get on!

Oh and its a cat d...but only light panel damage but fully repaired by nissan specialist!!

Is this a cause for concern?? as im not looking to sell it on anytime soon.

I would stay away from a Cat D personally - unless they are selling it at a bargain basement price. View as many cars as you can

As above plus check tyre tread and make sure they are above 5mm each.

Sort of on that vain. Also check that the tread is wearing evenly. Most people don't even spot that the inner shoulder is wearing until it's too late. This is due to dud wheel alignments in part. Good wheel alignment should wear perfectly even across from inner to outer shoulder of the tyre.

Also, check window operation. They should drop about 5mm when the door/s open or close, to release pressure. If not can either be window motor, or possibly just slightly off track.

Ohhh i seeee, Any particular problems with cat D zeds?

I saw one today and it looked sweeeet and drove to perfection!!!

Its what you can't see that would concern me, freshly sprayed panels will look great but the integrity of the chassis etc would be my concern? Light panel damage = CAT D? :nono:
