schism2k
Hi, just a quick question I was hoping someone could answer for me please. I'm looking to fit some 20" tyres to my GT4 but I'm clueless on how the measurements work. I've read that the tyre sizes for the standard 18" tyres on the GT4 are: Rear 245/45 x 18 Front 225//45 x 18 But If I were to fit 20" tyres to a new set of alloys, what tyres sizes would be best suited to the car? Thank you!
Adam@Z1auto.com
depends on the width and offset of the new wheels
martinmac
As Adam says, stick a link up to the wheels when you find them and we will give you the info. It is very confusing though
schism2k
It's 20 x 8.5" The bolt pattern is 114.3. The offset is 20. Thank you!
fatalus
20 x 8.5" all around? Sounds a bit too small width...
schism2k
What is the standard width on a set of rays?
fatalus
8" for the front and 8.5" for the rear.
Sarnie
8" for the front and 8.5" for the rear. And even they are too narrow.................you'd expect 20's to be 9.5 & 10.5 at least
schism2k
Ok, but if I were to get a set of tyres with those wheel measurements, what sizes would you suggest? Thanks
Adam@Z1auto.com
tbh, I would not even bother changing them from stock if you're going to use such narrow sizes. If it's worth spending the time and $ to change, it's worth making both an aesthetic and performance oriented change (ie larger footprint = more grip)
