3FIDDYZ Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 what site? They prob arnt based in the UK so they get around the law.... Did they give you the "carbon" option and the choice of a logo on the plate? If so, they are not strictly "legal". At the present time, there should be nothing else apart from a GB or Euro flag (if you want it) and then the plate.... If it gives you the option to put a logo or slogan on the bottom, then there not strictly "legal". Dealers arnt even able to put logos or phone details on them now... The only other thing on them should be very small letters with the plate makers "code" and some type of serial number.... Quote
Chris`I Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Thought the only thing allowed on them now is the post code of the place that made them? Sure thats what I had last time I had my bike plates made up at Halfords. Apart from the GB/EU flag that is. Quote
madmat Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 yeah gave choice of logo and carbon gonna steer well clear i think. thanks guys Quote
Chesterfield Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 try fancyplates.com They have a configurator for legal plates, and a configurator for "fancy" plates - plenty of options and reasonable prices too. Quote
WoREoD Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I'll recommend FancyPlates too. Had several sets and excellent service. I also recently bought a stick-on plate (for show and high-speed trackday use only!) from CraigsPlates Irish division. It fitted nicely under my legal one Remember legal plates also have to have a "BSAU nnnn" number on them. Quote
IanS16 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Why would you want domed letters anyway? They look really chavvy! Quote
madmat Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 thats a really good point ian im not a chav lol thanks chaps Quote
