Sandy
Hello Folks, I'm looking to replace the original BOSE headunit in my Zed. The two headunits I'm looking at are a Kenwood DDX5022 or Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD. I want to retain the steering wheel controls and I want to use my iphone as the mp3 player. What headunit will be the best and what parts will I need?? Thanks in advance for any advice Sandy
H5
I can only find the 5024 Kenwood http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/kenwood ... -7345.html Both will do a job. These sorts of double DIN touch screens can be a bit confusing to use on the move though. If you're keeping the BOSE amp you'll need the PAC ROEM adaptor and there are options on the steering wheel controls. I've got an Alpine unit that needed some pulling apart and soldering to get the steering wheel controls to work. You will lose the phone controls on the steering wheel/ If you want to use the iPhone, then get yourself an Alpine unit. The head unit actually controls the iTunes on the iPhone and makes use much better. Best of all, it uses the Alpine software to reproduce the sound which IMO sounds much better than the Apple stuff!
