Bars & Clubs in Glasgow - Help

Yes, seeking Glasgow knowledge yet again!

I have a hen night in Glasgow at the end of May and we're wondering where to go bars/clubs-wise? Once we have an idea where to go, we are looking at contacting the managers to see about any perks/freebies (guest list, free entry, any deals etc) and ensure that hen parties are okay (I know some places don't like hen/stag groups).

Ideally nice good-all-rounder type places, although can't be too pretentious/snobby seeing as there will be a real mix of ages, and seeing as it is a hen night so no doubt some of the usual tacky accessories etc. Must be places that are okay with that sort of thing. We are going to be going to Di Maggios in Exchange Square, or TGIs on Buchanan Street, before heading out if that's any help. Just looking for a few nice bars, ending up in a club, all within good walking distance (don't want to be staggering too far in our high heels  )

I know Jay was going to be giving me some suggestions, but any opinions and ideas would be welcome (or if anyone has any contacts!! ;) ) by posting here or PM. :)

Merchant City is nice. There's an O'neils, a tapas bar, and the Metropolitan Bar.

Also club wise there's Arta, and a new one opposite it, that I cant remember the name of!

Over the west end you have Ashton Lane - mix of bars . The Loft being one of the best.

sauchiahall Street has plenty of places, but its a bit chavvy for my liking there.

Im sure Jay will be along soon with other ideas.

Thanks Lexx, suggestions much appreciated  And big thanks also to those who have PMd :D

I realise everybody has their own preferences so all opinions and info welcome, keep them coming!

(In return, I may be persuaded to post a couple of photos of the event to give everybody a good laugh I'm sure! )

Princes Square has a couple decent bars, always find Glasgow really easy to stumble upon a decent establishment. For a hen night as a group, the Revolution has a decent atmosphere, there's a Lloyds which although a bit takcy is a decent laugh.

Karbon, Bamboo, Cube (think its gone now??) and Cushions are clubs I've been to on past visits.

yup cube is gone and Kushion is one of my favs clubs in glasgow along with karbon :teeth:

Yes Jay, the clientelle in there is always extremely agreeable on the eye!! So surprisingly is Lloyds anytime i've been in, which is odd as it doesnt particularly fit the bill, maybe thats just from a pretencious Aberdeen nightlife scene point of view though.

Somehow I don't think my idea of 'eye candy' is quite the same - unless you happen to be into men of course

No no Cara, you're fairly off the ball with that assumption. I believe November in Princes Square is a haunt for a few footballers, we've seen a few in there in the past, if thats your thing.
