Muddy
Just dropped off the car at Donington Park for the Autoglym Best in Britain Competition. So as promised here’s the long awaited launch of my new show car – project350z. As some of you may know I’ve been secretly building a show car for this years show season. It may not be to everyone’s taste, but I’m sure a couple of you may like it. For those that don’t know me I was a Subaru owner for 9 years, of which I was a committee member of the SIDC for 4 years. In this time I had two Subaru’s (Both red) both of which were show cars. The last one being one of the most successful Japanese winning show cars in the UK. Anyway that was sold in September ’08 and so the hunt was on for a 350Z. Red is my trade mark colour so for obvious reasons I needed a red ‘Z’. These are like rocking horse poo, but I eventually got my hands on a UK 2004 model in October. Within a few days I began stripping it out, starting with the boot area, and commencing stripping the plastics and building a false floor for the new ICE. Over the coming months of hardship, worry, stress and good ole’ graft, the car was finally finished this week. As you can see from the spec list almost everything has been changed. As it’s a show car I’ve created a theme – project350z. You can see the day by day blog here as well as pictures. http://www.project350z.co.uk will go live in the next hour or 2. So here’s the spec ----------If you like carbon then you might like this…….. rtbiscuit
thats a cracking car, you can see how much time has gone into that. very smart, really love the orange zed touch on the rear strut, very unique and really sets that strut off. i have some lovely dark orange engine bay lettering for the carbon covers that would really finish off the engine bay

Muddy
That's stunning buddy just as a matter of interest, what made you change from the subaru?? Good question, after being in the Subaru community for 9 years, especially being part of the club that long and being a committee member it was a very hard decision to make. I had obviously owned Subaru's for 9 years and I had achieved every dream possible with the last car, I felt a change was in order. And for the last 2 years I've had a soft spot for the Z hence why I chose one to show.

Chris`I
Excellent work there mate! Few ideas in there that I had been planning to do. With your dash flock, I assume the passenger airbag has been disabled? If not, let me know who did it as everyone I've asked had to disable it Also with the harnesses, where are the mounted to? I see no harness bar, so are they just for show? The angle they are running is far to steep to run them properly from what I've read of. 3FIDDYZ
- a TD exhaust on a N/A build? (albeit looking great with the Ti tips!) bye bye to some torque... The 2 points above I'm afraid all point to the "all show and no go" philosophy, which is fair enough if that was your goal, just not what I'd do Why the point on the TD? No proof that these loose power on an NA infact the opposite!!! Oh and the all show and no go..... Havnt seen many posts on your build.... Love people that are pretty much stock that have an opinion on other peoples cars... ! The fact that he has displaced weight by using a carbon hatch against his ICE build and upped his chassis with some pretty good kit prob means he can still get round a track as quick! And course its a show car.... If he had wanted a track car he would have stripped the fooker... Anyway back to craigs post.... Mate great car, great parts, great work ... fittment looks spot on and the colour is Can see a few similarities too you been looking at my planned list!!! Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh as I am sure the pics dont do it justice! Interested in reply to chris's Q about the dash airbag! Photoshoot sometime???!!!
