sprevett
...seems one of you lot got their P3 for £180? I've been quoted 357. What exactly gets done?
sunset350z
Not sure exactly, but i can assure its not worth that amount. Find another dealer or take it to an independent.
The Hoff
Check your service booklet, there should be a tick sheet from previous services which will show you what gets done. I think my P3 coming up with an MOT is £230 ish all in. Thats at Coleford near Gloucester, the main city stealership was closer to the figure you quoted. nurrish
My local nissan dealer quoted me £320. But when mine comes around i will be taking it a independent garage which will charge me £180.
sprevett
have decided to take mine in to my indie - they are top mechanics and on checking the service booklet the P3 is nothing special - usual oils & filters and a set of plugs - hardly worth £357! mbs
...seems one of you lot got their P3 for £180? I've been quoted 357. What exactly gets done? Yes got mine done for £180 but I took my own oil & filter so £220 total
Rob_Quads
That sounds a lot for a P3 - try some other dealers. Locally I have seen a wild difference i.e. £75 on a P1. As for worth it - depends on if there is a specalist you could use? depends how long you will keep it. If you are going to keep it for a few years and go with a specialist or even just another garage but use them reguarly then IMO although not quite as good as Nissan service history its not far off. The value of a FNSH gets less the older the car gets i.e. keep it 5 years you might not make back the extra £500/£750 you 'may' get over a FSH car
NWZ
It was me that paid £180 for my p3 last week, supplied my own oil - no air filter as I have cai. Does your price incl. plugs? If I recall, the first P3 has plugs as well. My P3 was the second - 72000 miler
tmJak
I was quoted over £350 for P3 at Nissan Manchester. Got it cheaper at an indie with performance fluids and filters. You can pay what you want though, depends what you need doing.
red or zed
it was a while ago but i paid well under £200 at chorley nissan, wigan i think it was, for a P3
sprevett
thanks for all the feedback guys - much appreciated. It seems quite a few of you get your own oil - is that out of a deep-rooted suspicion that dealers put Mazola Cooking Oil in (recycled from the local chippy)? or that only the right lube will do for your baby - i.e rare gubblybubbly bean oil crushed between a virgin's thighs on the island of Wahay on the 4th Sunday of the summer solstice? hm? mick43
my P3 was as follows. this was 1st P3. 4yrs old at 25k miles, @ main dealer:- Total price was as quoted @ £339.19. No additional work was required, other than noticing space saver spare was just under required pressure (probably because it recently did ~180 miles due to rear puncture) so a good spot and advisory to keep an eye on it. Service was as per P3 requirements, ie. new oil/filter, brake fluid, coolant, air cleaner. They also used engine flush, fuel additive etc which was previously advised and quoted within price. NWZ
^^ So basically they charged you £120 more than my P3 to change the coolant and do an engine flush, I reckon that's a good 1 hours labour, so to be fair it ain't bad. And at the end of the day £330 for full service for the zed is cheap as chips imo.
R800NER
Just out of interest, my P3 is due in 2000 miles IIRC, can I provide my own oil and if so....which one should I get and where? I am a bit new to oil...so excuse the nooby question! EDIT: after a search...would this be ok? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1146-silkol ... gines.aspx Would 1 litre be enough? M13KYF
...seems one of you lot got their P3 for £180? I've been quoted 357. What exactly gets done? Go to Lockwood and Greenwood in Manchester. You get discount and the if supplying your own oil you can get it for £200.
