BulletMagnet
One more thing, due to me being a noobie. I just replace from the Y-Pipe back right? Nothing else needs to be done? I won't get CEL flash up on me? The only thing I gain is noise level (with is what I'm after)? Thanks for any advice

Thanks for any advice Spot on, connects from Y pipe onwards, no lights on dash, as its a like for like replacement without taking anything away, and more noise will be gained... Stew
I believe that's the case with the K1. If you do throw a CEL do an ECU reset (note the code for reference) and it should be fine. You'll gain a LOT of noise!

S1 HNK
i heard the K1 on marzman's car last weekend, sounded really good. Wasn't stupidly loud on tick over or low revs but when he put his foot down

MWTech
what kind of power gains are to be expected from this? im very interested... and whats this about ecu resetting? i never had to do any of that on my ek9, and that was a full decat from front to back... could someone clear this up please if i bought this what else would i need to buy? a sport cat? or decat pipe? and the manifolds? anything else? and what would it be like bungs out on the motorway at 70/80 in 6th...i do motorway miles. i just hate the looks of exhausts with bungs in, they look @*!#! MITZ@CougarStore
No power gains at all, as the self cancelling ECU won't allow them... Purely for noise (lots) and looks...
MWTech
so if i want power aswell...what do i have to do? or get? or do i need a different exhaust altogether?
xStric9x
so if i want power aswell...what do i have to do? or get? or do i need a different exhaust altogether? You need to TT your car or buy a piggy back for the ecu, someone will post an est price but it ain't cheep and not worth it for extra few bhp
rtbiscuit
so if i want power aswell...what do i have to do? or get? or do i need a different exhaust altogether? the only mod that will see you any noticable gains is a plenum spacer. everttyhing else is cancelled out by the ECU. if you want to get over this then you need a piggyback ECU or a new ECU piggy backs can be got for around £600 but thats before tuning, replacement ECU's like the Haltech will be around £900 before any tuning is done. you will eassily spend £1000-£1500 for about a 10% gain. the more mods you add before hand like air intake exhaust plenum spacer etc, the more the replacemnt/piggyback will be able to do with it. alot of money when you look at it £'s per bhp gained
maz77
so if i want power aswell...what do i have to do? or get? or do i need a different exhaust altogether? you need an aftermarket ECU to start with or piggy

MWTech
i cant believe theres not a way ( without buying a different ecu ) that adding a full decated system and manifold for example will not be able to produce any gains in the slightest, when any other car iv had it does...without ecu upgrades...and ecu adapts to it... i had a tanabe full decat on my ek9, and that was loud, plus motorway an ek9 sits at 4krpm at 80. ek9s have no sound deadening though, and a thin shell...id have thought the 350's chubby bodywork and solid interior and deadening would make it a bit better... BulletMagnet
Remember tht the Zed is a two seater and there is no wall so to speak between the boot and the main cabin. With the EK9, you'd still have rear seats that can act as a "wall" of sorts between the boot and main cabin.
