machineman1
Hi all, first post be gentle! I have loved the Z since launch, but couldn't afford one till now. I went to see a 300 07 GT model last week and although I had the seat right back on the electric switch, I felt really cramped with my knees bent at 90 degrees when resting on the pedals, or the left foot rest. The hight adjusters where in their lowest positions, but I found the lumbar support (unadjustable?) thrust me even further forward, compounding the problem, even with the seat back well back. I should mention I am almost 6ft 3 tall, my mate who is 6ft had just about enough leg room, am I missing something? It's confusing as Jerry Clarkson seemed to fit OK and he's about 6ft 4! I am genuinely gutted, I finally get to sit in my dream car and don't fit! Is there any tall forum members, and how do you get on with the car on a day to day basis? ZeddZ
You must be,I'm 6ft 4 and there's plenty of room for me.There are 2 dials on the right hand side of the drivers seat to raise and lower.Maybe they needed altered. Welcome to the forums.

machineman1
Thanks for the welcome guys, ZEDDZ, I had both dials at their lowest positions. There's not a memory position on the seats is there? Anyhoo, I'm gonna try another tomorrow, I really want this to work out as there's no other car I'm interested in to be honest.
rtbiscuit
if the seat was reclined back and then you tried to push the seat back it won't go as far, you will probably need the seat more upright in order for it to go back further. unless it wss already quite upright then i would look into leg shortening surgery if your determined to get in the car. martinmac
Hi and welcome to the forum. You wouldnt be the tallest owner on here so just have a play with the settings a bit.
JT1703
I'm 6'4" and like quite an upright seating position and there's still enough headroom in mine. Play about with the seat adjusters and I'm sure you'll find a suitable setting
AK350Z
no probs here at 6'1". You could also try a non-GT as i belive the seat is a touch lower due to not having all the heating and electronic gubbins.
adncd
are you sure the seat is going all the way back and down, is it possible something is restricting its movement?
nickwheadon
Hi mate - I am 6'5 and a bit of a unit, and I fit fine. I have a mate who has driven the car with no problem and he is 6'7 and 25 stone!! (they call him the biggest man in the world!) I find if you get the seat as far reclined as possible you should fit fine.

machineman1
Thanks for the warm welcome and the words of advice Guys Update: Just been to sit in another at Brum and took the Girlfriend for her opinion. It is definitely more of an upright position as JT1703 said, I guess I was expecting more of a lying down, legs straight ahead deal like my old Audi TT. So played around with the knobs on the side and I reckon I could get used to it. If it wasn't for that lumber support sticking in me lower back it would be perfect, but I'll put up with it for the chance of owning the best GT coupe in it's price range So I'll be keeping me eyes peeled for an 06 300 GT model and popping up to ask daft questions in the near future! Cheers all. MM.

martinmac
Good luck with the search, give us an idea of colour and spec and we will help you look. An idea of how far you will be willing to travel will also help
machineman1
Thanks CS and Martin, Was thinking of a GT Coupe not roadster, silver, gunmetal or black, possibly blue but definitely not sunset I thought a Mk2 300 with the updated interior so 06 for about £14000, but just read a post saying some have oil consumption issues Distance about 50-60 miles but relying on mates for lifts at the mo as car less currently, so the closer to Wolverhampton the better. Oh and preferably a main dealer for a years warranty. The one I sat in at Brum this morning was an 07 for £16500, a bit rich for me.
Maccaman
Hi & to the forum. The 07 might seem out of your range but you could be very surprised at what a dealer will accept at the moment. Give it a go at £14k & see what they say.

Give it a go at £14k & see what they say. A couple of weeks ago, I wanted to buy an 06 for £14000 from the same dealer. It went on sale on the Auto trader on the Friday morning and I phoned an hour later, but the guy said it's only just come in and being valeted and he would call me back and tell me the condition etc. Four hours later, he called to say he had taken a deposit over the phone from a guy sold unseen full price! They are snapped up here in the West Midlands.

Shuck
Is there any tall forum members, and how do you get on with the car on a day to day basis? I'm 6 foot 3 and have no problems with the car. Just play around with the seat until you find a confortable position. As mentioned before, remember to use the dials on the right side and not just the electric switches on the left. I sometimes use my Zed to travel to rugby games, and have my other 2nd row in the passenger seat. He is 6 foot 7 and still has decent leg room. Can get two kit bags in the boot too.........its so practical
Leeroy
I've been through the same thing, as mentioned there's a fair amount more room in the non-GT due to the lack of electrical gubbins. That said I'm 6'7" & can just about get comfy in the GT.
