Preston
I recently changed my front discs and pads all round. I took the red stuff pads out that had been fitted by the previous owner and put standard pads in (red stuff destroyed standard front discs ). The red stuff pads seemed to have backing plates attached and the new ones did not. The back pads now seem to make a knocking noise when engaged! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! cgomez1978
I had this problem before mate, took the dealers a good couple of weeks to work out what the problem was, it turned out they put the wrong pads on the car Also i've heard that you need to put copper grease on the back of the pads
MITZ@CougarStore
Which pads have you fitted, Nissan standard? Also, did you fit the rear shims…
Preston
blueprint pads fitted, they didn't come with shims tho! the pads seemed to fit well though so I don'nt think the pads are wrong. pads were greased too, may be worth while trying a set of shims in her to eliminate them
cfoster
I used to get the same noise on my celica gt4 and evo7, i found that copper slip between the shim and the back of the pads sorted this out. HTH Chris
ZMANALEX
Got to be careful with Blue Print pad applications mate as the motor factor's parts lists are unreliable and list variants. Correct part # are : REAR.......... ADN142120 90R-01010/2159 LW-3105 FRONT........ ADN142124 90R-01010/2099 LW-3005 You will find that the correct application for the Zed with Brembo brakes will have a red brake in coating on the face of the pad. Hope this helps.
