sleonard
just want to know u guys got any tips?! for exmaple how many revs i shud have it before i let go off my clutch etc?
Ekona
Somewhere between 0000 + 6500 would be my guess. Seriously though, it all depends on a million and one things: Tyres, tyre wear, temp of the track, how much rubber there already is on the start, and more importantly just how little you care for your clutch and drivetrain. Just guess on your first go and adjust as necessary. Good luck!
matth76
Let us know how you get on mate... bad or good is worth knowing and not always down to the car. The Santa Pod track is notoriously slippy.
InsanezeD
Yeah you cant really launch at high revs at the pod, theres more rubber on that tarmac than tarmac, very slippy. Get your times up anyhoo dude!
Pimm
I have been to the pod a few times in my 3.2 GSi Vectra and i have to say it is nothing like a normal tarmac road or at a set of lights in the high street. I would like to take my Z and see how it does. Keep us up to date on your times
roast350z
when i was doing it last year in the zed i was launching at 4k revs with a bit of wheels spin off the line but that was not as sticky as santa pod tarmac good luck bud sure you will have loads of fun! Greekman
Have fun..... good petrol...warm rear tyres.... 1st about 4-5k revs depending and most important dont go too hard on the throttle from 1st to 2nd...needs practicing....but about 20% wheel spin in the ideal on 1st and minimal on 1st to 2nd.... Dont ask me how much 20% is.... i dont know....
