gadgetnut74
Hi Guys, the wife never learned to drive (didn't take test at least) and i'm obviously not teaching her in the 350z .. Wondered if you had any recommendations for £1-2.5k cars to kick off in.. initial thoughts .. Fiat Seicento Arbarth ;-) Would be handy to be luggable to make up for my roadster, but ideally small / capable of motorway trips occasionally! I've got to spend both our allowances on my 350z so fair's fair..

But you HAVE to stay with Jap stuff - old Toyota Corolla or Mazda 323, rock solid go on for ever and cheap to run !

sunset350z
You can pick up a tidy ford focus for that money. Big boot and pretty reliable, get a small petrol engine and it'll be economical, cheap to insure and its easy to drive.
IanS16
I really couldn't say a bad word about my ford focus company car. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Never had a problem with it for 60,000 miles and the 1.4 is very good on the fuel
bronzee
Perhaps take into account servicing costs, if you're not doing it yourself, and also insurance and your beloved car tax.
Stew
At that money you can get some pretty good cars. Personally I'd go with something like a focus. There are loads of cool little cars. Does a Yaris come into that price range?
greido
For a small car with a £1-£2.5k budget, I'd go for a Honda Civic, excellent cars and ultra reliable.
