IanS16
I have a varis CF front spoiler that doesn't particularly like speed bumps and the clear coat of lacquer (i think) has cracked a bit. None of the CF weave is damaged though. Can I repair the clear coat or not? Just looks a bit tatty as the cracks are a white colour that's all. Cheers
martinmac
Just the same as the bonnet Ian, take your time and it will look better.
IanS16
Is just the clear coat though. Nothings broken off as such. Can you just paint it on?
BulletMagnet
Isn't the clearcoat the resin that the carbon weave has been covered with?
Rob_Quads
it depends - its probably a resin based gelcoat that you have broken but some people also will lacquer a bonnet to give it that extra shine. As for repairing it - its possible with resin and or lacquer depending on how much is missing
IanS16
Nothing is missing at all, its just cracked. Thats why I wondered whether I could just use lacquer to touch it up.

clarkie34
If you laquer over the top of the crack, would you still not see the mark underneath?
