Chris`I
You need at least a tank full of the new stuff for the ECU to adapt properly I saw a decent increase in MPG swapping to Tesco 99RON over any other supermarket stuff. Made the price difference a non-issue
matth76
I'd be interested to know where the 102 ron fuel is too.

Chris`I
I'd be interested to know where the 102 ron fuel is too. They have it at Bedford Autodrome IIRC, but it was about £1.20 a litre!

Made the price difference a non-issue Wonder if an ECU reset may help me then? I'll do it tomorrow and give it a try. Oh, and I only buy half tanks at a time as it goes on my fuel card
NWZ
You southerners could buy some barrels of the 102 and bring it up for the Bala run..... Would love to know if it makes much difference.
Stew
102 is available on the road to knockhill.... It's the only station I've seen it at. Wouldn't dream of using it though...
Chris`I
Does anyone know if our engine can even take advantage of 102RON fuel? I seem to remember seeing a post somewhere which explained the different RONs that different Zeds (UK, JDM, USDM) could handle and I think 101RON was the highest the UK could go. Would still give some advantage over 99RON, but not as much as the extra cost of the stuff!
Stew
Not sure Chris. Would need a remap for sure. With a piggy map with multiple maps maybe it'd make some difference. I certainly would not be paying £2.42 a litre though!
IanS16
Sorry to bump the topic but I've been on the Tesco 99 ron for a few days now so the ECU should have adjusted and the old fuel should be all gone. I'm now getting 1km/l (now 7km/l from 6) better fuel economy (which is a lot) and Im driving exactly the same. Have reset the comp so its a newish average. Hadnt really noticed performance difference but went out with my mates clio 172 last night and in comparison to before my car seems a lot quicker. Anyway, def sticking with the 99 ron now as its only 93.9.
