3FIDDYZ
Hi mate, saw the GT at Snetterton when we were up there last year, lovely car Glad its back on the road. Whats the deal with the cam on the back? Was that a factory fit or an addition? Mark
BLITZ
came with it when it was shipped from tokyo had to remove all the jap hard drive etc rubbish in there , it had 20kg of cable removed, heres bernie removing some of it its a reverse camera , have seen them on a few 350GT's you can use it for parking gives a massive wide angle view of the back for such a small camera car also has be spoke leather interior , it was done by a company who makes £10.000 suites for the rich etc and it has silver stiching not bad i thought for a £700.00 re trim inc door cards Its a plain jane when standard , you just need vision with the GT when we imported it ... looked to boring , but saying that the 350z is not that pretty until you fit a few choice bits , not overkilling it is the key mind went to USA Grille $100 delivered spolier $99 delivered ( £520 from Nissan UK) Leather retrim £700.00 20in rims bembros are standard on the manual its more powerful than a 350Z 298bhp as standard performance now (dyno'd) 320bhp impul exhaust Japspeed y pipes Injen Air intake 5.1 0-60 this is the offical new skyline , the new G37 is called a 370GT in japan quite why we need Infiniti over here baffles me had the G37 wore its proper badge it will sell everyonme still thinks the new GTR is a skyline which it is NOT Got a few mates who have the new GTR impressive car!! 3FIDDYZ
Needs to be Infinity cause of the states and its cost cutting on lots of levels and get to make it a more exclusive brand. Its to take part of the Lexus market... Seen a few 37s and they are very nice interiors are spot on... Good price on the interior, car to share the details! Interested how the 35 was more powerful as standard... they are all reported as less powerful than the Zed... But also how you got it too 320. Guessing you have had a reflash or a piggyback? Been thinking of doing somethign like this for a bit...

Been thinking of doing somethign like this for a bit... GT is heavily heavily restricted in the intake and exhaust compared to the Zed all parts are from states and dyno proven impul exhaust + 15bhp injen +15bhp ( with their cone ONLY that also keeps mixture correct) y pipe 10bhp the GT is not set up same as the Zed at all , people assume its the same or less powerful responds very well just with a Zed tube ( 350z intake pipe) it shares a few components of the Zed thats where the similarities finish , its also much bigger and a true 4 seater , put the two cars together they look like chalk and cheese Auto has 276bhp 6 secs 0-60 and a Auto box to die for Manual 298bhp thinking of a pelenuim spacer , mate did it on his 2003 Auto and was shocked at difference especially with the Injen kit he now makes 293bhp on rollers bhp per component part is completely different to a Zed , bhp per £ gains are amazing , nissan basiclaly robbed it of power and strangled it to make it quiet, it was seen as the exective car our GT sounds amazing with the impul system we put in on the rolling road when arrived it made 300bhp as standard on optimax and over 300lb torque , i struggle to keep up and take the GT in my R33 , i'm all boost and tyre smoking while sally just goes up the box all that torque you see the GT will pull from 20mph in 6th gear to its max ( top speed limiter removed) ( on a track of course)
BLITZ
here is a common GT intake upgrade bottom pipe is standard and almost squashed flat the top pipe is called a Z Tube ( 350zed intake) immediatley you get induction noise and instant throttle response so i went the whole hog and fitted this instead
3FIDDYZ
Intersting as they both have the VQ35DE. Must be the ECU in the GT cause the Zed suffers! Also interesting that you havent got the plenum spacer on... its the only proven torque / hp gains without ECU adjustment... Autobox is the same as in the Zed by the way Unfortunatly owning the Zed and trawling these boards we dont trust figures given from manufacturers.... 40bhp from those... maybe on paper but not on the car! Only if you have dynos which you do so good on you If you got one to post up would love to see it just to see the curves
BLITZ
Sadly not , Thing is no two engines are alike and depends on many factors state of tune , compression etc etc you know the score RX8 rotaries no two are the same we had two RX8 and both drove very different the new models are slower thanks to a Emission flash very true about manufacturers specs remember the jap 280bhp Gentlemans agreement , most are way way over that especially with Skylines and some supras and scoobs rolling road / dyno wise first run was just for hell of it , second was a £30.00 run on an opening evening with loads of other cars inc a Mustang supercharged, at the times the runs were just for fun not to prove anything more out of interest if anything mind you good idea.. when they do another evening i will definatley get the read outs and scan them in , that way other GT owners will see the benefits reaped for such small £££ outlay , after seeing the results with the spacer on a mates Auto i will definatley be putting one on Sallys GT You have to make up bolt spacers if you have the full engine cover though if you wish to refit it , ours in carbon so hope for no cover -bonnet rubbing , next on list is some blue hoses i think I went to Jap tuning show last year and saw some truley awesome 350z there that have given me some great ideas for the zed when we get it Just out of interest Road tax are you guys paying £400 this year? Also for any Watford members have you seen the black Veilside 350z around Watford ... WOW STUNNING My friend Tom has just TT his 350GT ITS REALLY major work though and thousands £££ but hes running over 550bhp looks awesome too , its pearl white if anyone has seen it on the show circuit
3FIDDYZ
Is Toms this white one? Think the veilside was owned by someone on here! Lads in the states have had the plenums fitted and then the carbon cover fitted do no need for spacers Tax.... £220 Few of us did the shows, next time say hi! BLITZ
that was at modified live pippa put on a great show i thought , shame trade area was so poor last year , sign of times all shows were the same japshow wash out was only one i have missed since the first JAE didn't bother last year it got rubbish 2nd year in at peterborough and not doing Japfest either this year for first time, they are becoming money making crap , fair enough japshow and japfest and modified live at some track action etc JAE was just money for nothing in end and manly kids with bolt on oversized comedy parts .. Most of my shows will be at the Pod starting March 22nd USC was awesome... my first time last year and will be back this year we were on fifth gear feature jap tuning show was huge disapointment yet previous year was really good , didn't do trax either for first time i will be going in october to modified live though , hope for no foggy early morning convoys this year though also total nissan are asking for a 7 page feature on the GT which will be cool
BLITZ
hopefully you guys will turn up in the masses for my Ace day March 7th looking forward to meeting you all and to druel over some cool Zeds the mags usually turn up so good photo oppos , we were in last years JP and banzai i think May or june editions
3FIDDYZ
Yeh it was modified live.... I thought it was pretty good.... Agree with you on no 2 engines are the same, but its more about they are both vq35's so there will be a varience of a few HP but as all us owners know from owning them, you dont get to 300+ without a piggyback or a reflash or some internal N/A engine work... That was my point that your GT has the same engine but is kicking out better numbers than the ones in the Zed... we seem to be resticted by the ECU but am guessing that the GT has the same ECU... BLITZ
Who knows . maybe the owner in japan had tweaked ? although from info i've gathered from states they share same engine but everything else is pretty much different few running gear bits are same typical Nissan parts bin ours in 2004 6spd manual and should have 298bhp as std where as same year Zed has 276bhp the same output as the Auto 350GT ECU could therefore have a totally different map , thing is though BHP is pub talk i feel as its really the torque figs that are key , bhp helps but pointless if its all at the top end seen this many times with the skylines and mapping , most mappers will sacrafice some bhp for higher torque figs my GTS have a near vertical torque curve from very low down , bhp is around 300bhp yet my car is much faster than a few friends with 330bhp when you can get the grip down and the bitch in a straight line that is , wet roads lights the rear tyres up at 50mph in the wet ... not ideal i have a boost drop off issue to sort that out , just need to get boost controller set up properly when i get it mapped as it throws out 3 ft flames as well .. lol
