WoREoD
Called in to get "something for the weekend" (99 Ron) and was surprised to find we were signing for credit cards instead of PIN-ing. Have the fraudsters moved on from Shell?
hagar
funny old thing chip n pin been warning against this since NZ introduced it (only back there back then the banks instantly started to say if your card is used fraudulently then its your fault, no cover....) It should be combined chip and pin with a stored signature that the clerk then compares to the one you enter but this would cost them about an extra 10p per card so it costs too much
Derek_ZR
Probably something wrong with their chip & pin system. i.e. probably the ISDN line or something. If they use signatures then they are liable for fraudulent transactions so I doubt they are doing it willingly.
M13KYF
rarely saw a petrol station bother to check the signature anyway.
