nixy
Only just found out about this (unbelievable bearing in mind i pass it twice a day)! What a set of miserable barstewards! It makes my day driving past on an F1 testing day even if sometimes all you can see is the big Maclaren Lorry and lots of secret looking marquees! http://www.thepress.co.uk/news/2341871. ... id=1661638
Trev-the-Rev
Awesome. A number of the teams used to use Pembrey which is not too far from me. In fact Senna still holds the outright lap record from his days with Mclaren, and Mansell uses it regularly to test with his sons.

Maccaman
I thought testing had been banned this year?
MrLizard
this reminds me of a conversation i was having with a marshall at brandshatch... just built a new estate within a couple of miles of the track, loads of people have moved in knowing its right next to a race track and now brands are being forced to increase the restrictions on noise, which means some of the events now cant be held there etc... ARRRRRGGHHHHHH, why move next to a race track and expect no noise, i suppose the above might have been the other way around but in my mind if i want a 'cheap' house next to an airfield i would suspect that people wouldnt be flying paper bl**dy airplanes there!!?!?!! Lexx
No TOTB for us this year then Nic.
nixy
I haven't heard it's affecting any of the car shows/events but maybe you're right? They'll be stopping the air show too probably - the red arrows are quite loud!
Lexx
From what i read, they now have to apply to local council before staging any events that are likely to cause noise. So those applications will likely be rejected.

nixy
just read that link - bloody unbelievable. How can they justify awarding someone 40k in damages for motorsport noise - you would probably get less if you got shot in a robbery! With the way the economy is at the moment you would think the jobs it creates would be more important!
Trev-the-Rev
I've lived in my current house for nearly 20 years and all during that time there has been an RAF base less than a mile away. Perhaps I should start complaining about the noise the fast jets make!!!!
