scottsoulby
its about time i bought new tyres, im opting for the falken 452's my question, what is the widest tyres i can get for the stock RAYS, i have 225/45 front and 245/45 on the rear at the moment, the reason i ask this is because if i buy new wheels later in the year ill want to put these tyres on the new wheels, and the wheels i have been looking at are 8.5 front and 9.5 rear, just wondering if the tyres would be ok? Thanks (and sorry if this question has been asked before, couldnt seem to find the answer?)
Trev-the-Rev
My advice would be not to go wider on standard rims. If you plan to upgrade in the future it's likely you will go for 19's in which case your tyres won't be suitable anyway.
jon
The rays will hold a 255/40 tyre safely, but it will balloon slightly and won't feel as good to drive. Probably offer up less grip too!
Adriank
I run 235/40 F 255/40 R it fits fine, doesnt look overly balooned as far as im concerned and the handling seems good to me! Wouldnt go any wider than that tho.
