GS1
hi all i was looking at a 2003 uk model 350z with the birds eye sat nav looks like the previous owner has used somthing dodgy to clean the screen which has left a unsightly stain/ splash mark in direct sunlight. looks like it is permanent and won't clean off the sat nav is otherwise workinfg fine is it possible to replace the screen cover? the 2003 dvd comes with the car - is there an alternative to paying a nissan dealer 400+ for an update? thanks oh and is the screen touch sensitive ? littlecbigd
Hi. I had a similar issue on my 2007 Zed. Luckily Nissan replaced it under warranty but not without a big argument. Apparently it is caused by the anti-reflective coating de-laminating when the screen heats up. If you try and clean it with anything at all (I used a microfibre cloth and Oakley sunglases lens cleaner, so you' have expected it to be OK) the coating appears as if it has been scratched. I was told that the screens cannot be replaced on their own and need to go back to Clarion in France on an exchange basis. So, you may have more luck if you contact Clarion directly ? Good luck
littlecbigd
Oh, sorry - and the screens are not touch sensitive - they just get very greasy if you touch them
