Toon Chris
Need some help here guys... After an carefully engineered iRiver Xmas pressie I have used the holiday break to take out the console and add a MP3 cable to the Bose. I followed the excellent guide on my350z.com (shoudl be a sticky on here, maybe?) http://my350z.com/forum/4292171-post98.html I also do the trick with to prevent a tape needing to be inserted. http://my350z.com/forum/4764747-post103.html Everything went very well except the *BIG* problem! The main wiring plug (the largest of the three connectors) into the back of the Bose exploded apart on refitting. The Bose is a warranty replacement so I guess the monkey that fitted it broke the plug. Although I can put it back together again I don't know which wire goes in which hole! The colours of the wires is not clear in the guide and in any case seem to be different to mine. Has anyone got a good picture of the wires going into the back of a UK Bose (my Z is an 04 if it matters)? Failing that, can anyone tell me which colour wire goes in which hole in the plug! Toon Chris
That would be a life-saver! There is a long trip to the Lakes to visit the rellies tomorrow. I think it is the Audio Unit Connector, B53 according tot he manual. I daren't muck about with it as there is a live feed or two and if I get it wrong is is Bose toast time
Toon Chris
Thanks for the link :) Urm.. so it is an M40 connector, but is it the '350Z Wiring Harness Connector' that is the correct one? The other one (ISO connector) has different colours.

Toon Chris
have a look on here http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17923 It's a helpful post, but I'm still not 100% confident. Fingers crossed!
Toon Chris
Success, sort of. Putting the block back together meant that some wires touched each other - it was unavoidable really. The result was a blown fuse which I located in a block by the battery and replaced. There is another fuse blown somewhere which controls the power to the radio and the power to the instrument panel and digital pod (or two fuses?). I have crawled all over the car with a torch but can't find them - only a fuse block near the drivers feet but they are all intact. I have seen a thread which talks of a fabled 3rd fuse, but where is it? Oh yes, and by the way, my tape button doesn't *click* like the CD and Radio buttons, is this normal or is it broken? It doesn't seem to be depressed any further than the other two?

GIXXERUK
CD auto-changer (built into audio unit) operation is controlled by audio unit. Power is supplied at all times through 15A fuse [No. 37, located in the fuse and fusible link box] to audio unit terminal 6, to BOSE speaker amp. terminal 11, and to option connector for satellite radio receiver terminal 1. through 15A fuse [No. 17, located in the fuse block (J/B)] to woofer amp. terminal 8. With the ignition switch in the ACC or ON position, power is supplied through 10A fuse [No. 6, located in the fuse block (J/B)] to audio unit terminal 10, and to option connector for satellite radio receiver terminal 6. through audio unit terminal 12 to BOSE speaker amp. terminal 41, through BOSE speaker amp. terminal 32 to woofer amp. terminal 6, and Ground is supplied through the case of the audio unit. this is by the battery chris ---Power is supplied at all times through 15A fuse [No. 37, located in the fuse and fusible link box]
