theman
Is it safe to use white spirit on my chrome wheels after using a cleaner and washing, just to remove last bits of dirt prior to applying a sealant? Cheers
marzman
I wouldnt personally - i used some halfords bug and tar remover on my standard jdm wheels and it made a bit of a mess of the finish!
Chris`I
Is it safe to use white spirit on my chrome wheels after using a cleaner and washing, just to remove last bits of dirt prior to applying a sealant? Cheers Get yourself a Megs Clay Bar kit from Halfords, that should remove it. If it doesnt post up a pic/description of what you are trying to remove and we'll advise. Craig (Muddy) is an ex-pro detailler so he will know what to use to shift it safely

theman
Thanks for all the feedback chaps. I have just purchased some 'restore' wheel cleaner which I may use on the wheels to get all the real grime out of them. I want to get them as clean as possible prior to sealing. I have used Poorboys' wheel wax, it is good kit I must agree. I also use Poorboys' Natty blue wax on the paintwork-quality product! Once the wheels have had a deep clean it should do the trick, don't take the car out in the wet!
