GIXXERUK
The rehearsal and script read-through isn’t always the most reliable way to work out exactly what’ll end up in the show, but we know that James flew to the US a couple of weeks ago to drive Honda’s hydrogen-powered Clarity - which won Top Gear’s Green Car of the Year award on Monday - and that Clarkson has power tested the all-electric Tesla on our track. Richard, meanwhile, has restored the TG carbon footprint by making a film about 50 years of touring car racing - The Mole has seen this and it’s worth a look for the wheel-to-wheel archive footage of Minis and Mk1 Escorts giant-killing Mustangs and Camaros. Awesome. The star in our reasonably priced car this week - prepping for his practice laps as we type - is voice of the valleys Tom Jones. We’ll bring you some pics of him on-track later. Oh, don’t forget that Top Gear’s on BBC Two at 9pm this Sunday, rather than its usual 8pm slot, because of Sports Personality of the Year or something.
