lilsheepshagga_turbo
driven quite a few of these buddy... the 5.7 and the 6.0... imho a big version of the z... plenty of low end torque and plenty of bum out action.. but very civilised when needed... my only concern was mpg...i think i got like 12 mpg on a spirited drive.. also with the 6.0 the boot was way to small for the size of the car due to the re-location of the fuel tank and i was concerned by the lack of noise it made.. but thats easily cured with either a wortec...milltek or walkinshaw zaust good purchase imho if you were to get one -ho
bronzee
This end of the world it's called a Holden Monaro, and drove quite a few when I was looking at the Zed 5 years ago. Big engine, torquey, but not a involving drive. A bit like driving a big armchair. IMO. It really depends what you after.
rmmackfc
... yip, I've got one I still love it + easy to mod (500-600 bhp can be achieved for £5k), it has bags of torque, it's not as thirsty as you'd think, servicing is cheap (cheaper than Nissan too), it turns heads, seats are mega comfy - parts are slow to get, there are only a few specialised dealers (i take mine to Darlington...long story) The V8 is a dying breed these days, and monaros are changing hands for silly money. You can even pick up 07 VXR8s for 24k. Go to http://www.hsv.org.uk/ for the pistonheads forum.
Shuck
I saw one the other day and it looked awesome. I didn't realise how imposing they look until I saw it in the flesh! - parts are slow to get, there are only a few specialised dealers (i take mine to Darlington...long story) I'm assuming thats the Darlington in the North East near me. Thats one hell of a round trip for parts......still gives you a good excuse to go out for a long drive!
nixy
they do turn heads and you don't see them very often at all which always makes you feel good when driving!
S1 HNK
the VXR8's are awesome cars, especially the with the Wortec upgrades!!
sake-bito
I was really wanting one for the noise and was hopeing it would be scary(ish) with that extra power and RWD. Still don't look anywhere near as nice as the zed though! STOO
lotuscc
Drove a VXR8 at Brands Hatch - it felt big, heavy, cumbersome and not as fast as I hoped. Monaro is a bit lighter and more driver focused and with useable rear seats

Adriank
My dad had a Monero VXR 6.0 LS2 with the exhausts changed, it was a VERY loud car, sounded amazing tho. Quick for its size. He now has a Red VXR8, honestly the VXR8 seems a bit faster, i have to disagree with whats written above, i drove it recently, it feels noticably quicker than the 350 and to me, no bigger of heavier to drive at all. Ill get a picture up of them together when i can.

bronzee
Out of curiousity what are Vauxhall/GM/Holden (whatever badge you want to give it) like in terms of warranty up that end of the world? This end they're very good this end, they drop out parts and exchange no hassles to maintain their reputation, even after the warranty has expired within reason.
