This could be the end of cheaper oil for a while.

Not good news at all unless the international community gets this sorted soon. One major has already decided to sail its tankers around the cape rather than risk transiting offshore Somali waters to get to the Suez canal. This means that we are effectively back in the same situation as during the Suez closage.

Unfortunately quite often locals feel like they are missing out on the wealth that oil creates in poorer countries. I've been in some dodgy places when you have to have an armed guard with you as an expat oil worker. The pirates or militants couldn't do much to me due to the nature of completions I ran into oil wells however the guys on tankers have crude at their finger tips so become easy targets.

news said today asda are pushing the price down further i think it is due to be 90.9 within the next week or so.
