theman
Hi Guys, not long had the car and wondered if any of you experts can answer a couple of questions for me? The car has genuine NISMO factory upgrades with a letter from NISMO stating work carried out. Can anyone tell me exactly what these are with reference to the detail below: Nismo Project MU (brakes)? Nismo SCCA T2 (suspension) Nismo S-Tune Fujitsubo FGK (exhaust)-looks like full system to me?? Nismo S2 Concept Engine Upgrade. VQ35DE - car is certainly quick/responsive It is also fitted with Nismo 300kn/h clocks. Do these upgrades add significant value to a 350Z without the above? The car handles superbly, the exhaust sounds awesome and looks top quality and the brakes are very sharp-but obviuosly not Brembo!! Thanks for taking the time to read. M13KYF
certainly add value but how much is in the buyers market. Your probably looking at a third of the original costs of the upgrades on top of the value of the car.
GIXXERUK
imo any of those mods would not add value and if anything will probably render the car more difficult to sell on sadly
Adam@Z1auto.com
S2 engine is extremely desirable, and very, very expensive when purchased new from NISMO T2 suspension is actually quite harsh, was sold as a US option for cars competing in SCCA T2 class, but is no longer offered as I recall The exhaust should be the titanium one (large "Z" on the center canister?), and again, very expensive new. steve3000
imo any of those mods would not add value and if anything will probably render the car more difficult to sell on sadly Exactly, people mod to their own tastes and for their own reasons - so unfortuantely modding is rarely an investment unless you happen to find someone with very similar tastes when it comes to selling up. Having said that, the Nismo exhaust is definately a nice addition in my opinion (I don't know about the others though!) Steve
theman
Thanks for the replies chaps. I'll check the exhaust later and see if it is marked with a Z. It certainly saved me money as I rarely keep a stock exhaust on cars. Ref. the suspension, it really is not a harsh ride at all. Not boomy and not overly firm. I would say no different from a standard car with uprated springs. What mods does the S2 engine consist of? Any idea of power output? Would'nt mind getting it on a dyno run. I know what you are saying ref. mods. I have had Beemers, Porsches, x3 Supras etc etc and I know all about losing money on cars!! My Z pretty much looks standard-apart from 20" wheels, rides well, sounds far better than standard and has no bodykit which is often a very personal taste. Hopefully the day I do have to sell all these factors may help? Might be sooner than expected as things are moving quickly on the property front.:scare::scare: Thanks again for the info lads. Not sure if its the same tho..... http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Engine_Packages Thanks boomer! I reckon my motor has most of these parts but not all. See you are in S London, are you heading to the meet arranged for next weekend. Think it was starting at the 02 arena last time I checked? 3FIDDYZ
Project Mu are superior to Brembos IIRC. Are they light blue? I think all the parts hold value and and give a stock look... Engine upgrades are a bonus too and should hold out more value than a stock one if the buyer knows what they are looking for. More of a specialist car... Got any pics ? You had the car on a dyno? Intrested in the numbers its made... Mark Where you based? Am in South London too...

I'm actually in Poplar, near Canary Wharf so probably a bit away from you? Not far from the O2 centre though!! Not had car dynoed but think I will at some stage. Know of anyone local who would do it? 3FIDDYZ
Did you say Project Mu brakes? They look like base Nissan ones from here.... Nice car though, PPW looks great and nismo spoiler looks tres good
theman
Did you say Project Mu brakes? They look like base Nissan ones from here.... Nice car though, PPW looks great and nismo spoiler looks tres good I agree mate about the brakes. They are very sharp but I have only driven a 350Z with standard brakes in the past, so no comparison to gauge by. Looking at the Brembo set up, my brakes can't be better!? Being new to the Z I'm pretty ignorant to these things but I fancy sourcing some Brembos and having them fitted to finish the car off. That and about another dozen other items!! Thanks for the comments.
Sarnie
Project Mu pads only then maybe?
3FIDDYZ
Yeh maybe :-) They are a worthwhile upgrade! But with the bit of extra power you should stick some Brembos or other BBK on Used sets are available... Try some of the teams that run cars in the race series as they often get them off the cars they are using as they upgrade. RJN Motorsports have been known to get them in from time to time! Not sure if Zmanalex has anymore available!
