stanski
Just curious - what are they like to drive? I hear they are dog slow and wallow about but its a city car at the end of the day? So any info - does anyone have one?
Chris`I
Haventy driven one, sorry, but Clarksons review of it was dead funny. Most interestin bit about it is it looks different from each side, so if you get bored, you can walk round to the other
M13KYF
always liked them. Not tried one though
stanski
What!! Thats another review I hav'nt seen about a car I like?? Well if I did'nt need the van I could quite fancy the newer 2006 models? Black with tinted windows!
SunsetZed
I think they look quite cool as well, and I like the fact that you don't see them too often, shame they'll still have Nissan paintwork
3FIDDYZ
When I had some ICE work on mine I had to go home to get a part I had forgotten and the guy lent me one of these as my car was in bits.... Felt like a right herbert... Think the cube is based on the same chasis...
Ian
A friend of mine has driven one & he loved it
3FIDDYZ
Also saw this at a Nissan event at the Tate Modern http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/19/new- ... enki-cube/ Quite like the idea of an electric city car...
stanski
They were thinking of importing the Cube officially to the UK this year but worried that it may be a bit to weird for the UK market and the plastic interior too plain! Ha ha ha ha ! Would be tempting in the future as a city car if I ever get a job back in the burbs!
Adriank
I think those Cube's are cool, if i had to get a city (big/small) car it would be a cube or one of these Fiat Panda 100HP!
stanski
Eek not seen one of those - is it an Abarth jobby? I did see the 4x4 version of the new Panda as a Police car 2 years ago when skiiing at Selva Val Gardena - looked quite funny! Hmm wonder if a V6 would work in a Cube? Stiffen the shocks up though and erm new brakes and......
choptop
Nissan Cube is a great little car. The auto box is a bit naff and it is not meant for Motorway Driving but apart from that it is Nisan Micra (March in Japan) technology and does a job. Contact GlenMH if you are interested in importing one. He is surrently in Japan and has contacts at Nissan. Show him the 'readies' and I am sure he can sort something for you! Digsy
When I had some ICE work on mine I had to go home to get a part I had forgotten and the guy lent me one of these as my car was in bits.... Felt like a right herbert... Think the cube is based on the same chasis... The S-Cargo or whatever it was called was made in the early nineties with the Figaro and Pao and based upon the chassis of the Micra which was around at the time i.e. crap. Cube will be based on the current Micra which looks daft but actually handles pretty well for a small car. Might be worth a drive if you can find one, Stan. SunsetZed
When I had a service done I didn't feel that the Micra handles pretty well for a small car Whilst this may be because a) I'm blinded by my hate for them and / or I've forgotte nwhat my Fiesta was like to drive & I'm comparing it to the Zed but I think that the high driving position made me feel precariously balanced, and thus lack confidence to drive it properly, I mean I was looking down at people in Mondeo's!!! The high driving position is a psychological thing. You can drive it on its door handles and it hangs on, even with the skinny tyres on the 1.2S we had. We talked about a holiday to Japan in the not too distant future? Tempted to buy one while over there - used to cost £600 to ship in a container? But exchange rate is pants at the mo. I used to have a Figaro -it was a rare 1 little old lady owner, minter and for a micra based vehicle it was great .The Pau is a lot slower and heavier - see one once in a while on M56! I used to recover Figaro dashboards for the guy who imported mine, so have a bit of knowledge on these. Not that keen on the S Cargo but as a practical fun car for the right money the Cube is pretty cool. Just remember a lot of these smaller cars cost about £3K over there so why they end up being £6-8K here is amazing

Have just come back but the wait between flights at Helsinki airport was not a pleasant experience. Totally naff airport with nothing to do. Need to improve their facilities if they wish to make it a hub airport. On the shipping side, you would be looking nearer £1.5 -2k now to ship. Nor are they £3k to buy there (accept a totally clapped out one). By the time you got one back (new) and put it on the road in the UK would cost you approx £12 - 13k. Many European cars can be had for better money................
manc350z
I'm not with you on the fiat 500 is gay..... ok the standard one might be a little light in the loafers.. but this abarth is a babe http://jalopnik.com/assets/resources/2008/03/Fiat-500-Abarth-Geneva.jpg There is all sorts of talk of upcoming specs... launch car 135bhp, 8.2 to 62.. and rumours of a early 7'2 to 60 180bhp turbo version due... which should be hilarious.. As for the cube... all i can say is - Compare this - http://www.algysautos.com/images/nissan-cube-liminus-red.jpg With this - http://www.eurocosm.com/Application/images/pedal-cars/postman-pat-pedal-car-md.jpg Spot any similarites... stanski
Not a big fan of these cubes, they look abit like a, erm.. box? Ha ha thats funny! Yeah but they are cool you can stack them on top of each other when not driven? Just put then next to the Billie CD tower in the spare room! Eek thanks for the shipping etc info - looks like I am a bit behind the prices then If we get to go to Japan will have a proper look around the options - but it will be holiday! Until the day I dont need my van the shopping for cubes will have to wait! Anyway just curious what they were like to drive and live with thats all! Still think Fiat 500 looks cool - but no stupid stickers and all the chrome you can fit on it!
