Charlie_W
Firstly, apologies if this has been discussed in detail elsewhere - I have searched the forum and read up as much as I can, however I'm still a noob on this topic I have an 05 zed and have just this week had work done on the gearbox to try to resolve crunching 1st to 2nd shifting. I believe they replaced the 2nd and 3rd synchro rings and hub (am dropping back into the dealers tomorrow to get a complete list of work done and parts replaced). After driving in the replaced transmission (the drive home was aweful - notchie in all gears and could only get into reverse with considerable effort ), things seem to have settled down. However I still appear to experience crunching between 1st and 2nd (more frequent when I've just started up the car) I can get around this by taking my time changing gear which was advice from the engineer, but I'm not convinced everything is ok. I'd welcome anyone's thoughts on whether it's just my driving style or whether I should take back to the dealer to fix (thankfully it's under extended warranty )
