Recommended Posts

Hi Guys!

Just joined, and considering getting a 350z. So though i'd read up on them first.

But am I being really thick here. I can't for the life of me find the button to go to the next page on any of the sub forums!!

So I'm stuck only using the front page of all the threads!

Help! :)

Hi and :welcome:

No you arent being thick.. Its not the easiest to spot, its toward the top just above the "New Topic" button. :)

I suppose it should be at the bottom too, as thats the logical place for it.

Once you have been on a while, you will probably use the "recent topics" and "unread topics" links more.

Oh, and the search button

OHHHHHHH

Cheeky little crap!

I was being thick!

So now, im hopefully viewing a couple of tree fiddies in a week or 2. The question is...roadster of hard top???

They're both roughly the same price and same milage (very little), and I generally much prefer the look of the coupe. However...The roadster is in my favourite colour (Azure blue) and obviously, for that half day of sun we get, it's much better!

Someone decide for me!

I was looking at the specs yesterday, and the roadster is a fair bit heavier than the coupe isn't it. Killing the 0-60 time somewhat.

I'm in the position of looking a 2 Azure blue roadsters and a couple of silver coupes, on the same day. They are all 06 or 07 plate (april 07 to be exact) and they've got around 4-7k miles on the clock and all weigh in around the £16.5k mark. I'm pretty sure those are some spanking prices?? but the sudden and considerable depreciation on these cars does scare me a little (compared to a boxster or TT for example). Though, can you really turn down a 1.5 year old car that's almost 50% less than it's original list price! :)

I've got a Seat Leon Cupra R at the minute and I've gone from 210bhp to ~260bhp for £390 (fwd or not, you can't really sniff at those power gains), and always fancied saving up for one of the new Audi TTS's for more easy turbo tuning fun. But they're way out of budget for a good few years!

I'm going to keep browsing the forum some more.

Couple of quick questions, I know paper stats don't mean everything. But just picking the new TT or boxsters as examples. Why are their 0-60 times better than the 350z even though power/weight they're distinctly lacking, and is there anywhere on the site, that has a full breakdown of the specs of the cars and when exactly the model revisions were. I've burnt out google trying to find that bloody information but can't get anything concrete!

Thanks again!

Be aware of unofficial Jap imports when buying. Look up the differences between UK and Jap imports - you have been warned!

A 350Z is one of the lowest depreciating sports cars you can buy. Most owners of TTs and Boxsters have to add £5-10,000 worth of extras to get the spec that they want.

350Z come already loaded with most of the options you should need.

This site will provide all the info you will need about 350Z

The cars i'm looking at a full UK genuine cars. With GT pack and rays alloys btw!

It's just I've also seen many examples on piston heads for around 19k for 06/07 cars too. Which also seems pretty cheap for a car that was 30k new!

You'd never get a Boxster for that!

Because a boxster costs closer to £35-£40k from new ;)

Welcome!

Must admit I wouldn't want to buy a new Z and take that sort of hit, the nearly new ones are far more attractive in that respect.

I came from a Cupra R (275bhp) via a Lexus IS220D and the Z is a far different beast compared to the R. If you mash the pedal you are not waiting for the turbo to spin up, it just launches. No more torque steer, much better noise and it feels far more planted on the road. I don't know if you did any other mods to the Cupra, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how different and better the Z is.

Yeah the new hit is scary, and while I love the Z so far. Saying it holds it value better than most, is at best, a laughable statement! The only thing comparable is the rx8, which also seems to be taking a nosedive in used prices.

EDIT: This statement infact was true a few years ago, as I've always monitored 350z prices and it always seemed to hold it's value exceedingly well. Jeeze, I remember just a year or so ago a 2003ish model was the same price as a 2007 is now!

In regards to the Cupra vs Z, which Z do you have, and what's the difference in power like? I'm assuming you just had a remap without additional breathing mods? As power weight doesn't seem very different, seeing as the Cupra is almost 200kg lighter.

Im bloody well hoping it feels a lot more planted that the cupra too, it's a 2 seater sports car after all. :) I have driven a Z on a brief test drive, and also taken one round a few laps of a track, but these were both a good few years ago, before I had a comparatively powered car of my own, so my memory of it is hazy at best! Ihope it doesnt dissapoint!
