steve3000
What a morning! I'd finished fitting new brakes all round at the weekend, after Z failed her first MOT (must say thanks bigphill for parts & advice). Thought all was well for today's retest but she almost didn't make it though... Parked up outside the MOT garage, one hour to spare. Quite a steep slope in their car-park, so handbrake on full and release brake pedal... Z starts slowly rolling backwards... ARG! 10 minute drive home, whip the ashtray out to find the handbrake adjuster - doooh! can't find my 10mm deep socket... whip the jack under the diff and lift rear of car, wheels off, and start fiddling with a screwdriver at the brake shoe adjusters... 10 minutes later handbrake much firmer, wheels on, car down, back round to MOT station with 5 miniutes to spare. In the end she passed perfectly, well pleased! Steve
martinmac
Never in doubt then but always a relief afterwards
steve3000
Yeah, I knew she'd pass, the handbrake adjustment was a one-off it was getting dark when I was putting the new rear brake discs on! Took some piccies of fitting the front&rear discs too, so will pop them up as a how-to for non-brembos when I get a minute. Steve
martinmac
Asked my dealer to adjust the handbrake twice when in for service under warranty, twice they forgot
