greido
A few questions because I’m bored and curious; What did you drive before your Zed, how does it compare and what made you choose the Zed? Also, when the time comes; what would you replace your Zed with and why? I’d be interested to hear people’s thoughts on this. Cheers, G
Stew
Previously owned a Lexus IS200. Sold as I wanted something with fewer seats, fewer doors and more power. Chose the Zed as it was stunning and a great drive. Next?? Lots I like, none that I can afford!

GC350z
Before my Z I had a blue 04 Z which I changed because I saw and wanted a black 07 Z. Next who knows. I've banned myself from any sites selling cars just in case I see something I might want.

adncd
Previous - Astra 1.6 SXI Renault Laguna 1.6 RT Peugeot 206 Austin Maestro Van (ex BT) Test drove - S2000 Toyota Celica Mazda RX8 Looked at - 60's mustang AC Cobra (replica) Caterham 7 I picked the Z because it gave me the best of everything, big cabin, lots of power, great looks, great handling, not common at all. Next car - havent had the Z for long, i guess i would probably look at the a performance saloon, Nissan GT, EVO X, BMW M3 something like that, should i win the lottery then maybe the Merc C63 Black. what about you greido? Ekona
Pre-Zed was a modified VXR220, post-Zed will either be an Exige SC if I go back to something light and nimble, or a Z06 Corvette if I go even heavier and bigger. Whilst it'd be hard to go back to a 4-banger after the glorious sound of a six, the precision of the Exige might win. Then again, if the missus throws a strop or mentions proper heating, a lumpy V8 'Vette won't exactly be a hardship. The Zed is the complete opposite of the VXR220 which is the exact reason I got it, else I'd have been constantly comparing with the others I considered (987 Boxster S and S2K)and the VXR would most likely have won every time, leaving me in a big sulk and feeling daft for selling in the first place. I've never felt that I made a mistake yet in 6 months of 350Z ownership, so I'm 99% sure I made the right decision.
Greekman
Datsun cherry 1.3...back in greece...i learnt how to drive on it...cos it was a two seater with a big back bit so i didnt need a house when i was 18....and wrecked it.... Lancia Delta 1.6...still got it in greece modified and as good as new..... Ford escort 1.6 with a carburator...my first car in england and i exchanged it for an 80gig ipod...loool Maserati spyder 4.2 v8...what a sound...what an acceleration....180mph many many times....had a laugh with many modded bangers...written off in the second saddest rainy day of my life... 350Z 08 gt for the last 5 months....and loving it more and more every day.... I will keep da Z no matter what....but i know what the next one is gonna be.... in 2 years time the lighter and more powerful GTR...s spec they will call it i think....unless i get married (which i doubt)...looool I v driven many many cars.....i could write a book about them....some good, some bad, some ok....and i used to make (and lose) money as a student in greece street racing my Delta from a to b.... but after the RX8 the Z is the second best car for perfecting your drifting on a quiet b road with the odd round about and a great chick trap....and thats enuf for me.... rmmackfc
Punto Sporting 16V '94 Civic Type R '02 Z '04 Monaro VXR '07 Next... hmm... I keep thinking of sensible approach or going for a cheap runabout and another Z. I have to admit I do like the 320d Coupe Autovogue styled BMWs ... it's a BMW but it looks ... also thought about the new RS Focus as they are only making 9000 of them
Trev-the-Rev
My list of previous cars includes: Civic Type R Clio 172 Esprit Turbo 205 GTI Alfa GTV Loads of Escorts, etc, etc. This is by no means a complete list as being an old git I been driving for years. Car being considered next are: Cayman S, 996 Carrera 4, 370Z.
marzman
My last 3 cars were BMW 3-series coupe's. 95' 316 96' 323 99' 328. At the time i thought they were great, but i kept each for less than a year. I've had my zed for 11 months now, and in 2 weeks time it'll be the longest time i've ever owned a car! Got to say the BMW's dont even compare to the zed in terms of fun, exclusivity, reliability, or grin factor.
jim
My list - 1. 1954 Morris Minor (cost £10 in 1969, with seized engine, bought a Morris Traveller for £15 with 998cc engine as donor car) 2. 1961 Austin Mini (floor eventually perforated) 3. Ford Escort mk. 1 (death trap - will never own a Ford again) 4. Austin Maxi (surprisingly versatile until engine seized) 5. Morris Marina saloon (not too bad, actually) 6. Morris Marina estate (dire - no wonder British Leyland went under) 7. Datsun Stanza (first decent car I owned) 8. Rover 216 (Oh dear - why did I go back to British?) 9. Renault 21 (Much better - did huge mileage with few problems, including a couple of trips to France) 10. Lancia Thema (my Dad and I were long term fans of Lancia, and this was the culmination of a dream - brilliant car) 11. Lancia Thema 16v (obvious upgrade) 12. Renault Laguna 1.8 (ok - finances prevented natural progression at that time) 13. Renault Laguna 2.0 (things looking up a bit then) 14. Honda Prelude 2.0 S (That's better!) 15. Honda Prelude 2.2 vti tiptronic (Brilliant - kept it far longer than planned - now my son is running it) 16. Nissan 350 Z (finally made it!) All that is behind me now, the 350 will stay for a long long time. Wow, didn't realise you'd had a Z32 or was it a Z31 before the Z33. Before the Zed, I had a Spec R-S15 Silvia, rapid little thing, pretty light, wish in retrospect I'd kept it too.
AK350Z
Not much here, my average wage since i left school has been naff all until last year! Couple of my parents Mircas. First car i got with my own cash was a rover coupe 1.6, no way i was going to get insured on the turbo at 18! loved it to bits though. Big gap for uni, then an Alfa 33 which cost £250 and lasted 2 months. 8V Flat 4 was great! Alfa 145, nowhere near as good as the 33, and had the poor 1.6 boxer. Polo 1.4 - Sensibe car that wouldn't go wrong while i saved up for a couple of years for... a 350Z! Fecking awesome, and its not a hot hatch
Rentech
Moved onto the 350Z from a Civic Type-R which was great fun to drive and my favourite car so far . The wife and I have always loved the look of Zed but always thought it was way out of my price range (actually it still is). Anyhow, now not moving house as intended, so had some cash to spend and got my 9 month old Zed just under a month ago. A bit of a step up from my last car and probably the pinnacle of what I'll ever own. Loving the power and sound. As it cost twice as much as my last car I'm driving a bit cautiously. Hopefully will be able to exploit more of its abilities once I gain a bit of confidence with it. Hmm, maybe I need a little jaunt around some nice Welsh roads. Next car? Unless I win the lottery it will probably be a downgrade, so I best look after this one
