Skyline R34GTT
Am I right in thinking to get a car thats had the gearbox problems sorted it has to be 2006 or later and that will be a "facelift" model, the same as an 08 plate car? Im just trying to sus things out before taking the plunge, also is the spec im looking 350z GT? or are there other versions like GT4(What is that? 4wd?) That are better....and I see some listed as 280 hp some as 300 and some as 315 are these differnt cars from the factory ...like the GT4 or something? Any help much appreciated
Stew
Ok. Basics The car was launched in the uk in 2003 with 276 bhp. The GT4 was launched (special edition, numbered - different wheels and availabale in ultra Yellow or Kuro Black) this model had the 'rev up' engine with 296 bhp. 2006 face lift (very mild) used the 296 bhp engine, slightly different bumper and different lights front and rear. The layout of the interior is slightly different. 2007 saw the launch of the 313 model. It has a new design engine but again looks kinda the same apart from a 'bulge' in the bonnet and a new range of colours. All standard UK cars have had two trim levels. Base and GT. GT included leather elctric heated seats, bose and cruise. The non GT had cloth seats. Rays forged alloys were an option until '06 then they became standard fit. I think that gives you a basic answer. Any more questions then fire them up and we'll try our best to answer them.
GIXXERUK
gearbox probs are fairly rare compared to the amount of cars sold
Skyline R34GTT
Ah ok....that makes it abit clearer...So an 07 313 would be the best one....wouldnt leave much cash for wheels and stuff.....
Stew
The best???? It's the newest. It has the most power but the least tuning parts available (as it's new.....) It's pays yer money and makes yer choice!
Skyline R34GTT
Thanks, How come I see 2004 cars advertised as 313's? ...it looks like the old choice of newer car and less money for mods or older car with money for mods... p1tse
reading evo magazine, the gearshifter can vibrate as they didn't increase the dampner on this, to maintain feel etc. the facelift with the interior uplift is nicer, such as the air con dials looks better and the hazard light being moved under the controls, looks a bit better to break up the amount of plastic space IMO
AK350Z
Nothing wrong with getting a cherished 276hp model, once you change the lights nobody will be able to tell anyway. It'll be the best choice if you want to mod, lots of choice and getting cheaper by the day!
