Andy
Not sure tbh. My Z is SORN at the moment so will be interesting to see how much it is when I come to pay it again!
Chris`I
AFAIK the changes still stand, no U-turn. I'm shocked at how little notice most people are taking of this! I tell everyone at work its not just my 3.5l monster that will be effected, but their 2l family hatch, but they dont seem to take any notice. T8 JPE
How much is it going up to? I just forked out £400 and thought that was harsh
mec
Depends on what year the car is for 2009 either £300 or £400, from 2010 we'll all be paying £455.
Leeroy
Have y'all seen this petition to No.10 against the unfair retrospective road tax? Here's a link if not : http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/UNFAIR-VED/ Maybe this could be made a sticky? The more signatures the better. Leeroy.... Murdoch
I really think you all need to check what you are being charged, the DVLA office keep messing up the new rates and placing cars in the wrong band. I urge you all specially T8 JPE who just paid the incorrect amount to speak with your local DVLA office and get this sorted!! PLEASE READ THIS!! http://www.parkers.co.uk/news/Road-tax/ ... x-changes/ and this (although you may want to change it slightly for your particular Z'd http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-tax/?deriv=25156 hope this helps save someone some hard earned cash
T8 JPE
Well according to parkers i paid the right amount as it was registered after march 2006.
jim
I phoned the DVLA today and was told quite categorically that although my vehicle was manufactured and first registered in Japan in February 2003, it was first registered in the UK after March 2006 and is therefore subject to the full tax banding. Anyone who has a similar import and is not due the full £400 is very lucky - it is a mistake and must have been down to the person who completed the documentation at SVA. Leeroy
I'ver signed it, and it looks Kosher. As a way of keeping tabs there are 23,431 signatures showing today. The increases are outrageous (esp the backdatedness aspect) but it's going to get a lot of car fans into some nice cars Prices are in freefall, so many misinformed (read stupid) people will be buying more expensive cars that fall into cheap tax categories, when they could buy a decent car cheap and offset what they save against fuel costs and the few hundred quid tax. Don't even get me started on the green cost of keeping a car running compared to building a new one

Rob_Quads
Where does it say it would move to K and not M? - Its just on CO2 and at 280 it means we are well into M from 2009
Murdoch
Where does it say it would move to K and not M? - Its just on CO2 and at 280 it means we are well into M from 2009 That is what www.parkers.co.uk are saying and I work in fleet industry and that was what I was told. I just got my tax reminder through the post and it says 6months = £115.50 or 12 months = £210. Can digi pic it if you need something to argue yours down or anything

Traktion
These sort of retrospective taxes make me so mad! The sooner this bunch of muppets in power are turfed out the better! At least the oil price is coming down with the trouble at the banks. As long as the pound doesn't slip too, we may be able to at least afford to fill up our cars after all the tax has been taken!
