Nimrod
Have been so busy at work not had the time until now to post some pictures . Pictures include stop-over at the old race circuit at Reims, roads up and down Stelvio plus a trip into the mountains on a a road we found by chance. Cars were an Exige, Elise, Boxster S, M3 CSL and my 350Z. A great trip and I would thoroughly recommend it to all.

Cool Hand Luke
Mmmm a CSL Great pics - thanks for posting Couple of quick q's if you dont mind: What lens(es) were you using on your EOS? How long do you need to make a trip like that?
glastoveteran
Also Nimrod, was your route Davos to Stelvio via Bormio, and if so did you do it in both directions? We're only going to be doing it in reverse - i.e. Stelvio to Davos via Bormio and I'm not sure if that matters. Cheers

Nimrod
Mmmm a CSL Great pics - thanks for posting Couple of quick q's if you dont mind: What lens(es) were you using on your EOS? How long do you need to make a trip like that? Just used the one lens. Canon EFS 18-55mm. Very versatile particularly in combination with the various mode settings on the 400D. Time wise we allowed six days having pre-booked tunnel crossings on Eurotunnel. Caught a late train Wednesday evening then drove to Reims for night stop arriving early hours Thursday morning. After an ‘interesting’ night at the Formula One in Reims drove out to the old circuit in Reims before travelling down through Strasburg to cross into Switzerland at Mulhouse-Basel stopping a number of times for fuel, food and bladder evacuation. Then it was down through Zurich heading towards our base at Livigno via Fluella Pass. Fluella Pass was brilliant but had to drive in a tremendous thunder storm. One misjudgement meant we arrived at the border crossing in to Italy 10 minutes after the post had closed. This post is the one where you drive through a tunnel under the mountain. Because of our late arrival had to do a 45 minute detour around the mountain in to Livigno arriving about 22.45. Went to Stelvio on Friday up the tortuous multi-hair pinned route approaching from the east then down the other side to Bormio which, in my opinion is the better drive with fewer hairpins and more long open sweeping bends. Saturday we went exploring, going up what we thought would be interesting routes, were not disappointed. Later that day couldn’t resist going up Stelvio this time from the Bormio side. Instead of coming down the way we went up on Friday we came down on the Swiss side but I can't remember the route too well as I was following and enjoying the drive too much to look at road signs. On Sunday we started back but came via San Moritz and took a scenic route detour en-rote to Zurich. Approaching Basel we couldn’t resist entering Germany and letting loose on the unrestricted autobahn. Had intended to stop overnight at Reims but decided to push on to Calais and was lucky enough to get a late train through the tunnel. So, five fun-filled days but in retrospect an extra day would have given us more time to explore more routes and appreciate the scenery more. I’ll be going back next year as my wife having seen the videos wants to go so it’ll be a bit more relaxed time wise.
