nixy
I always think of gambling as a vice - I have a friend who's husband has literally gambled thousands away. I take it you're pretty good at it Beavis? I quite fancy giving it a go but would need lessons and would only gamble with matchsticks! Stew
Depends if you do it as a hobby or if it's a problem Nixy. If it's a hobby and you make money then fair play. If you do it and can't afford to do it then you have a serious problem. Any time I hit a casino I have cash in my pocket and that's what I can (and want) to throw away. Just a bit of fun. My personality isn't such that I like losing money to casinos / bookmakers so I don't gamble much. I enjoy a game of poker with the boys. £5 buy in and winner takes all. Beavis
Beavis whats ya username on PKR? Beavis Nixy i don't really regard poker as gambling, i play mainly tournaments and not cash games. Normally a tournament costs you a set fee, for example £20, so the players generate the prize pool, so it only costs you the buy in fee. The tournament the other night started at 9.15 pm and ended at 5 am, am i any good? to be honest i take it seriously i my aim is to make money at it, i want to become a very good player and at the moment i am in "the zone" as they say. Stew
Oi! Stop picking on me! I'm not scared to spend a pound or two but I like to gain from the experience. I'll tell you what put me off gambling - bandits especially. I once went to a school friends house in his mums brand spanking top spec scooby at the time (still see her and always has THE best model!) drove his honda pilot around, played pool, got lost in his house. Then his dad drove me home in his Brand new land cruiser. They did alright to say the least. That put me off playing fruit machines as they obviously make money. A good lesson to learn at 12! Madmarky
I enjoy a game of poker with the boys. £5 buy in and winner takes all. I often do that with a load of mates on friday nights, got a nice table and chip set. Few cans of beer, some nibbles and you can have a great cheap night. With regards to gambling, i put around $100 in my pkr account at the start of the month, if i use it all up i play with the fake money for practice. My car is costing me a fortune, cant afford to get in debt gambling
