Removed
Hi guys, while delving underneath my Z today I noticed that my Y pipe must have scraped vs something: the 2 "metal/wire/meshes/ thinghies" which i don't know the name of, seem to have a few little metal wires torn on the surface, clearly from scraping somewhere. Anyone knows if i can get away with that and what those 2 things are for on the Y pipe?
teddyonholiday
Val The wire thingies are flexible pipes that allow the Y pipe to move in relation to the engine and not transmit vibration through to the body. If a few wires are showing as broken then it should not be a major problem as they are primarily a covering for the main flexible pipe, like corrugated steel inside a wirewrapping. If it dosent leak it wont be a problem, if it does leak your MIL will be like a beacon, flashing more often than Benny Hill.
