kingbiscuit
So I was on a private road this morning and decided to see if my car was limited to 122mph, thats what IanS16 told me JDMs were limited to. I only managed 118 then there was a sort of squeaky wind noise and no more speed. Is the noise my brakes being applied? If not, how does the limiter work? Has anyone had it derestricted and how much did you have to shell out?
IanS16
118? What a crap car Think its actually 112 they are limited to but my speedo must just be more 'out' than yours! Oh and its the HKS Speed Limiter Defense (SLD) you need

PAK999
Just bought my HKS SLD from JDM Performance, after 30Z–uk.com member discount it cost £152.50 including VAT and delivery. A wiring diagram is included along with a set of insulated bullet connectors. I have attached the ECU Removal Guide from www.alteredatmosphere.com. You can access the guide directly at; http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/manual ... _Flash.pdf
dcash5
Yes that is about right usually between 112 and 122 ish! SLD Speed defensor is required and there are a number of different ones. Think mine was about 230 from big phil, so make sure you are getting the right one. Quite a relatively easy fit just a but uncomfy lying on you back in the passangers footwell, cutting wires on your ECU.
