Why the hell does every one ssay this S**T i have a N/A fairlady Z with 470hp

Would be good to hear the details and costs involved in that. We have a very reputable member in the States who is running over 300WHP N/A and it took a lot of work. Do you have a stroker kit or anything like that?

Now this is very interesting.

Please do tell more.

+1 :teeth:

From what Adam posted to get over 300WHP, I'd guess you'd need a 4.2 stroker built like a brick sh*t house to get 470HP!

I dont believe its possible to get 470 whp N/A in a road driving Z...

i agree,

pushing close to 400 bhp, but still being NA would be an extremely hard and expensive task.

470 bhp and NA your mechanic must be the messiah of motot mechanics!

either way your still looking at a new ECU and tuning which isn't cheap.

can you get throttle bodies for a v6?

port it and polish it maybe

increase the cylinder bore?

possible water spray system?

nos

stroker kit

change clutch, lighter fly wheel,

complete exhaust rework from the manifold back.

easily spending as much if not more than £5500 for FI

is it worth it ?

but i'm happy to be proved wrong.

Well its odd.. 3 NA engines similar sizes and the output figures for each:

Nissan 350z - 3.5 V6 - 279 bhp (309 bhp 2007 onwards)

Porsche Carrera S - 3.6 flat 6 - 385 bhp

BMW M3 (2003 edition) - 3.2 engine - 350 bhp

Now looking at above figures im very confused why people are saying we cant achieve 350 bhp with NA mods..

And dont tell me Nissan cant build engines.. cos new Skyline 08 is offically the fastest rd car to date

its possible to get 350 flywheel hp N/A (as Adam @z1 has) - its not possible to get 450 which someone here claimed they had.. :headhurt:

I think it would be a redesign of the engine though. There is only so much material you can work with. It's not as simple as comparing numbers.

I'm not automotive engineer but believe that many things have to be taken into account.

Oh and the Porsche is flat 6 and the M3 is straight six. Not sure if that has an effect.

..but not the most powerful. ;)

+1 My brothers 355 as a 3.5 V8 with 5 valves per cylinder and that puts out 385bhp and revs too 8500rpm iirc. ;)

good to see you found this site....meanwhile in your posts yesterday on my350z, you said you frequented this site...interesting

hopefully you can actually prove what you have, and aren't blowing smoke up people's keysters (I could personally care less either way, I'll get joy from seeing any outcome from this)
