Adhesive

Folks, i wanted to ask what the best adhesive for fixing body parts to the car is? I've seen some of the sticky backed tapes but they tend to be quite thick so the fit isnt totally flush. Would rather a gel or paste of some sort and possibly something that isn't totally permanent. One of the items are headlight eyebrows that i'm not 100% sure of yet so i'd like the option of being able to remove them further down the line, without leaving sticky marks on the headlights.

Any ideas?

The most popular for bodykit mounting seem to be Sikaflex and Tigerseal.

From what I've read Tigerseal is stiffer and better if there's no flexing/movement in what you're fixing whereas Sikaflex is more flexible.

But they are really a permanent fix as once they cure it's very difficult to remove. I'm not sure that silicon sealant will give the adhesive properties you're after but it's difficult to find something else that will hold really well but is also easy to remove with no residue.

Have you read http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14856 as Marzman has just fitted eyebrows with silicon.

Yeh i wouldnt use the tape... i taped a lip spoiler to my bmw a few years ago, and within a week it had fallen off!

silkaflex is nasty stuff to work with - its like chewing gum. You wouldn't be able to use that on the headlights. ...silicone all the way!
