powdermonkey1978
Congratulations there! Now, i'm all for leftfield choices, so how about an Alfa 156 GTA? http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/443344.htm Cheap as chips, and not as bad as some will tell you. i disagree a freind of mine has one of these and he has nothing but gremlins play with it at night , spent loads a cash on it, and had loads of DIFFERENT problems ranging from internal electric controls to engine management, and then there is the problem of the alfa dealer around here (midlands) being a complete numpty.... pembo
Thinking completely outside of the box but how about considering the new VW Scirocco GT, taking orders now and I reckon it looks pretty decent. It should be reasonably practical and might be ready just in time. If I needed 4 seats at the moment I'd definitely be having a look. Thelongads
The current list is (in no order) 1 - focus ST 2 - Golf R32 3 - RX8 need to get some test drives booked !! Been test driving all but the Rx8 (the missus just didn't like it) and was suprised by how good the golf was. It much better built, has lots more toys and has better grunt and acceleration. Only problem is the cost (little if any change out of the Zed, higher insurance and tax but the V6.... Focus was still fairly pokey but seemed a bit slower to get into its stride and you just did not feel as special inside. But.... I could pick one up about £4k cheaper than the R32 decisions, decisions ......... Ads
GIXXERUK
R32 - the seats are the noise is and the build is very comfortable and easy to drive with good residuals

Sylvester
Congrats mate - was there couple of years ago. Still got the Zed cos after a year I still could not part with the Zed and we found we were surviving with the Mrs Corrolla for family outings and me with the Zed for work/fun on my own. Plans to increase family means the Zed will have to go soon - been through the same list as you. Latest one to get added is the new Focus RS ( if not in a hurry might be worth waiting for ). The costs of things like this and the Golf R32 are horrible nowadayys though ( petrol and tax ) R26/GTi better for costs but either ugly or boring and slowish. Trouble is the Zed is just sooo good looking and goes soooooo well and sounds soooooo nice its really hard to replace it with something practical that gets anywhere near it on these fronts.
