Digsy
My 1200 miles are now done just wondered how many miles before these engines are ran in and loosened up properly? My first one didn't feel properly loose and at its best until 10k. I've got just 2.3k on my MY07 and it feels fantastic. I'm hoping that like the old one it just keeps getting better. RobD7
How many miles do you need to do from new before you can put your foot to the floor then? I'm sure I've always been told about 1k miles???
Trev-the-Rev
About 1k miles is fine. What you don't want to do though is to give it maximum straight away. Build up the revs and throttle opening gradually over a period of about 100 miles and it should be fine.
Beavis
Read somewhere that its approx 8k before its fully run in.
DavidS14
You also want to vary the revs and not sit at the same revs for long periods (i.e. motorway miles)
