TT Convert
Hello there, I have just purchased my first Z, I have had a noise from under the car, when its stood idle and not moving there is clunk 2or3 times then it rests for a few seconds then it happens again, it seems to be in time with a pop from the exhaust. any ideas anybody Also When the clutch isnt engaged thers no noise from it but when its dipped theres a very slight rubbing from the clutch, is this normal in the Z

lomoto
one last question, are the Z know for having a high'ish clutch?? oh and thanks for the help ;-) Dont know about a high clutch , they are known to be a bit heavier than most cars, if you have just bought it , it may be best to let the dealer have a look, or someone who has a Zed ?? Chesterfield
Best bet like Tim says is to let another owner have a look if you can and see if they think its anything different to their own. You can sometimes feel the clutch release through the pedal area, so could be that.
TT Convert
he clutch rub thing is ok, as I have read on here its quite the norm, my main concern is the 2or3 clunks from under the car that seem to go in time with the engine and exhaust, the tick over dies slightly, I get the 2or3 clunks then a slight pop from the pipes

Chesterfield
Try checking the brackets securing the right hand pipe, theyve been known to knock too.

gtphwoar
I have had my 350z for 2 weeks now... only 18k on the clock, they seem to be pretty clunky cars and you can sometimes hear the gear engagement and clutch bearing as you mentioned... I have found some relief in reading your comments as it sounds like you are describing my car! lol
