clarkie34
I decided to bin the Bose today in favour of this Its a Alpine IVA-W202R.I think it looks a lot better aswell as giving full details of whats playing on my IPOD,will also play CD/DVD. This maybe the start of some more ICE improvements as i saw some more goodies in the showroom where i bought it.
H5
Awesome bit of kit that. Had one being used in competition a while ago, full control of the EQ and very easy to use. DVD player is handy too, and the picture quality is top drawer for in-car.

H5
very i like that, was it an easy fit, anything need trimming ? playing the song that reminds you to buy a fathers day card Trimming as in stitching or something else?? Looks like a universal fascia that is a bit recessed at the top. Otherwise it should have gone straight in. In a depressing way....

Might be worth going back and having a haggle with them as you've paid over the odds for the unit. For £700 you can pick up the brand new 505 which has the much improved USB iPod interface (same as the X100) http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/IVA-W505 ... tml?cat=72 The 202 is available for under £600 including the bluetooth & ipod interface! http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/IVA-W202 ... -442i.html
sunset350z
Thinking of changing my Bose cd player for a double din alpine as well, but what i want to know is; will the phone controls still work on the steering wheel? and where is the bose amp too if i decide to upgrade that as well? By the way that alpine looks
Rob_Quads
Phone controls will NOT work any more. The AFAIK one you get an aftermarket head unit the factor phone kit does not work. You will need to get something like a Parrot etc. You can get the buttons to work with the likes of a parrot etc

tmJak
I hate threads like this Please can people consider my poor missus cooking in a kitchen that needs tiling and plastering before putting ideas of expensive mods into my head lol. Looks bud and I'm really missing the iPod in the Zed. . . Are you going to any of the meets cos I could do with seeing it if you don't mind

H5
First thing, you definitely did not pay over the odds - the advice, fitting and expertise to be gained from going to a proper dealer makes it the best value place to get your stereo stuff. Walk in there with an internet purchased unit and see how much they want to fit it........ I was / am an SQ boy, with a slight addiction to bass when on the move! I was running an Alpine headunit / EQ set-up, PG line drivers, JL amps, speakers and sub, all sorts of install tricks etc. Few trophies in the cabinet from it. The Alpine stuff is really expandable. Even managed to get my steering wheel controls to work and the phone is controlled through the headunit.
