_370Z_ Posted Thursday at 18:36 Share Posted Thursday at 18:36 (edited) hi guys i have a few questions. one being after installing some CAIs do you recommend installing bumper vents to help with the cold air intakes or not bother? (i live in england so weather is terrible and i dont daily it as i work away so i only drive it on weekends and meets). i also have a invidia gemini cat back installed and was wondering if i should get some high flow cats and then do stage 2 remap? also will high flow cats make it alot louder as im happy with the cat back as is and i dont want it to be too loud and dont want to get pulled over for loud exhaust? its not remapped or anything atm but im planning on getting it remapped i have just done CAIs, cat back and some minor exterior mods (spoiler, handles, wheels) also if you recommend bumper vents anyone know where to get unpainted or gloss black ones? i can only find carbon fiber ones Edited Thursday at 18:42 by _370Z_
Keith D Posted Thursday at 19:50 Share Posted Thursday at 19:50 (edited) You won't need bumper vents, unless you want the look in which case fill your boots Personally I'm not convinced CAI are necessary unless you are getting very high under bonnet temps, but again if you want them do what makes you happy, it's your car. They do look good. I have Invidia Gemini and Torqen HFCs and the car is certainly loud, but loud pipes save lives so I consider I am doing a public service to road safety... 😂 I have remap booked for Thursday pm next week at Horsham to take advantage of the HFCs, if I had just stuck to cat back I probably wouldn't bother. Not sure what you mean stage 2 remap? A rolling road session should end with a map that suits your car in its current state of mod, whatever that is. _370Z_ Posted Thursday at 23:14 Author Share Posted Thursday at 23:14 Cheers dude, well I’ve done the CAIs anyway as I like the look! I won’t bother with the vents then as they make your engine bay mega dirty supposedly! Funny enough I was looking at the torqen hfcs, did you add the cat back at the same time? Just wondered how much louder it would make it tbh? Ive had the cat back on for a year and quite like the fact it isn’t mega loud and don’t want to make it too loud with the HFCs
Keith D Posted Thursday at 23:28 Share Posted Thursday at 23:28 (edited) I bought the Invidia and the HFCs at the same time, fitted them, and found it loud. I dropped the standard cats back on but found it a bit meh, and put the HFCs back on again. If I could dial it back a couple of db that would be perfect, but its okay; mine is a toy and a project, I drive probably no more than 50 miles a month. If it were a daily driver I'd definitely keep the stock cats. I don't know where you are, but if you happen to be in the South West and want to listen to mine your welcome. _370Z_ Posted Thursday at 23:37 Author Share Posted Thursday at 23:37 okay fair play, do they help with power gains much? Me too tbh I’ve had it 4 years and i haven’t even done 10k in it yet as I work away and have a van so I just have a bit of fun over the weekends when I’m home! Cheers for the offer mate but I’m in Norfolk unfortunately!
_370Z_ Posted Thursday at 23:49 Author Share Posted Thursday at 23:49 3 hours ago, Keith D said: what you mean stage 2 remap? A stage 1 is on a stock car you’ve done nothing too stage 2 is lightly modified ie intakes exhausts and then stage 3 is when you’ve modified main engine components and added forced induction, there is also technically a stage 4 but it’s open to interpretation! It’s just what people in the car scene around where I live say but tbh at the end of the day a remap is a remap 🤣
Keith D Posted Friday at 00:12 Share Posted Friday at 00:12 My seat dyno is saying it's lost a little torque but gained power at the top end and revs way more freely. With the remap I'm hoping to gain some torque back. I'll know next Thursday!

Andy_Muxlow Posted Friday at 12:55 Share Posted Friday at 12:55 As these cars are N/A There isn't any such thing as a stage 2 remap really. You just have them remapped. The upgrades you have done will definitely help with the breathing of the car and how smooth it will feel afterwards. You won't get much in the way of gains unfortunately.
