MB350z
Hi there, I'm about to start working on my 350z in the next few weeks and was just curious if anyone had tried these as a fix for the back wheel arch rust and if they are any good? https://www.firefly-speedshop.co.uk/collections/350z/products/350z-full-rear-quarter-panels Thanks, Mark
heterofrogs1
I was considering these as well. But as they are essentially plastic, the entire rear quarter will have to come out which is welded. Then the new panel bonded or riveted on. As I only had a little bit coming through, it would be cheaper to cut and fabricate a new piece in. Depends how far gone yours are? If there's rust through both skins and you just want it gone and to never return - plastic will never rust.
MB350z
I haven't started digging into it yet so I still don't really know how bad it is. Let's hope not too bad 🫣
ZMANALEX
Replacing the rear quarter panels on the 350 is a huge, and costly job whether metal, carbon or plastic. The only time that you ever replace a rear quarter is if it is damaged beyond of repair. Either use a repair section or cut out the corroded area and weld up as required. MB350z
Yes I think you right @ZMANALEX what your saying is probably the way I will go with it just curious to see what other people did with theirs. Some very good examples on this sight. I also seen you had made up repair sections for the chassis where the kidney braces mount on another person's topic which looked really good. I have a feeling this is something I will require too.
