stetrigger
Hi everyone My 07 350 has failed its MOT on emissions and I'm struggling with what to do to get it down. The emissions are stupid high. Fast idle #1 CO 1.65 -fail HC 196 -pass Lambda 1.030 -fail Fast idle #2 CO 2.16 -fail HC 93 -pass Lambda 1.096 -fail Natural idle CO 0.86 -fail I've ran an engine flush through it, changed the oil, ran redex through it. Had it retested today and he said the CO was 2.8. I tried to get the car hot but they made me wait 45 minutes for the retest. The car has a plenum spacer, bigger air intake, and what I think is a cobra cat back exhaust. I don't know if it's been remapped or not. There are no engine management lights. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to bring the emissions without throwing a shed load of money at it? I feel the car was sold to me with a dodgy MOT by the dealer who just so happens to have an MOT shop attached to their shop. Thanks
ZMANALEX
What type of cats are fitted ?
stetrigger
I honestly have no idea. I couldn't see any markings on them. I can see a cobra logo near the backbox so I'm just assuming that's what they are.
ZMANALEX
You may have decats fitted. Get it back on the ramp and check this out.
stetrigger
It doesn't look like a decat to me. It's got the cat bulge in it. That's not say that a previous owner hasn't messed with the cat though.

stetrigger
Mine are definitely not OEM then. They look more like this. Only not as shiny.
ZMANALEX
As I previously have said, may be de-cats/test pipes or sport cats.
