GIXXERUK
Is it possible to do the clear rear lens conversion with the bumper in situ ?
Zummertor
Don't know, will try it tomorrow morning if post arrives Will take pics as I go in case there is anything to add to that fantastically written guide by some incredible genius.
Chris`I
Is it possible to do the clear rear lens conversion with the bumper in situ ? Its a ball ache, but it is possible. By removing the tail light and some bumper fixings, you can persuade the bumper to move enough to just get the light in there. And I mean just! There is an annoying locator slider on the side of the bumper, which gives you a fair bit of room to work with, but when it pops off its a sod to get back on. For me at least Oh and also there is a locator you have to turn 90 degrees, and no man or beast has ever worked out a way to get it back on easily, even Phil doesnt know! These are the reasons why I didnt update the original guide to tell people how to do the fog light, as I didnt want people ballsing it up on my account. Zummertor
Done, this morning. That is orange bulbs changed for the silver indicator ones. Red rear fog lens and light changed for Clear lens and bright Red LED bulb. Indicator bulbs perfectly simple following that genius's guide. Rear fog lens done with bumper in place but loosened in a few places, a real fiddle but doable with care, one catch a bit awkward but long nosed pliers to the rescue. Very busy right now but will post up a couple of pics and my observations on the awkward clip etc.

GIXXERUK
was it a bumper off job zumm ?
Zummertor
was it a bumper off job zumm ? No, it wasn't. Definately doable but you must loosen the bumper, doesn't need the clips on the top loosening just the 3 bolts and that fiddly white clip. Tail light off is simple Chris's guide shows it perfectly. Bulbs for Indicators - old and new: Bulbs for fog light - old and new: Then loosen bumper 3 bolts (all 10mm) and clip (short long nosed electrical pliers were key to this, the 8mm clip is tough to get at, I think an offset 8mm spanner may work, might go back and test alternatives if I'm bored in a week or 2). The come to the rescue pliers Undoing the 2 screws holding lens in is fiddly on side screw but small thin screwdriver worked fine. Disconnect the electrics (remember the colour coding for fog versus indicator. The clip holding wiring loom in place is a fiddle as well, it has a little hidden ridgey thing. Wiring "thingy" when free from old lens, note the little raised bit, this is what grips it to the rear of the lens Clear lens: note the arrow points to the part that clips into the above picture Then getting old lens out takes some jiggling and this is where you absolutely need the loosened bumper, I could not find a way to do it without it being loosened. Others feel free to tell me I missed something. Getting new lens in of course is a fiddle too and more so as you want to keep it un-blemished. Putting screws back OK, again the same fiddly one on edge, after that it all goes back together quite quickly, just that awkward white clip item again, definitely one to try and find an easier way to deal with, think I have just the spanner for it. I'm guessing as I tried a few alternatives that it can all be done from complete start to finish in under an hour with only very basic tools. Took a few pics so put into a guide in next week whilst I'm away and do a little more of a write-up. Looks loads better with lens and bulbs changed !!
