Matt8v
Hi guys, Thought I would document the life of owning my GT4. Just bought it a week ago from a salvage auction site, no viewings, just online bidding. Luckily I won and had it transported home. As you can imagine, there is a list as long as my arm of bits to tidy and sort. I've been very lucky that the engine sounds as it should do. Not driven it yet as a front alloy has a crack in it. There's a replacement coming this week. A few photos of how I saw it to bid on!
Matt8v
I managed to find two really good seats even before getting the car home. Just need some leather care products applying to protect them.
Matt8v
So happy to see this badge! Always wanted a GT4, never thought I'd get one.
Matt8v
Shocking state of those! See the crack on the spoke. Hence no driving yet.
Matt8v
Yesterday I took off the awful cone filter and pipework. It led down to the bottom of the front bumper for the cone. It could suck up any amount of water down there. Had to remove the front bumper that much to extract the cone and pipework. On went a lovely OEM airbox, with a HKS air filter coming in the post this week.
Matt8v
All back together and a second wash. This car is filthy dirty. Been a smokers car, so the inside is disgusting at the mo. No polish products applied yet, I will give it a machine mop to see what we have paint wise. Fingers crossed it comes up well.
HEADPHONES
Poor Zed looking much happier in your hands now. That GT4 plaque looks gorgeous. Brings back memories of many hours playing GT4 on my PS2. That cracked alloy looks like an accident waiting to happen Imagine if you knew nothing about cars and bought it driving off without checking! Yeah imagine driving straight off, you'd soon know about it! My Mrs says the new wheel has arrived! More car playing later if the weather is good. Matt8v
Took the decent alloy off the front, ready for new tyres. It's got tyres from 2011 and 2013 on presently! Whilst the car was jacked up a bit, thought I'd get some shots underneath as I've not seen under yet. If anyone sees something is bad or wrong, please let me know and I'll add it to the long list! The W brace doesn't look very clever.
Olly350z
Get those arches cleaned out! I bet they're full of crud! I do have a set of DE rear taillamps if you're interested, don't want much for them other then clearing out the spare room!

I've scraped the mud from the arch lip. I need to remove the liners and clean thoroughly. Yes please on the rear lights! Those ones are not my cup of tea. I will dm you about them. Very good of you to offer.

Matt8v
Had a spare couple of hours this afternoon, so more cleaning needed. Seats came out because they're knackered! Gives me a chance to hoover and clean the carpets properly. The steering wheel was/ is so manky with gunge. Loads of cleaning and it still needs more doing. The plastics came up nice and the smell of smoke reduces with each clean.

Olly350z
Get yourself a bottle of the Maguires odour neutraliser bud, think it's white if I remember correctly. Used to have a TypeR that had all the alcanentara seats which I smoked in, when I first met my mrs she never new I smoked it was that effective 😂

So I'll give that a spray this week after more of a clean out.
Matt8v
A couple pics of examples of how bad the paint is for faint scratches, swirls and marks. Had a quick 5 mins of putting an attachment in my drill to use G3 cutting paste.
Matt8v
The result of a quick going over. Looks like the paint will come up good once I get chance to spend a day polishing properly.
Matt8v
Had another 5 mins spare, so had a go at the passenger door. It has lots of heavy marking and scratches. I was surprised at how much disappeared from such a short going over.
