steven_farkas
Hi All, newbie here but am looking for advice on a creaking noise I am hearing from the rear of my 350 whenever I move off at slow speed (less than 10mph). It comes from both sides, whether I am moving forward or back and is worse when I am turning, but it also still happens when the wheel is straight. I know there is a lot of corrosion in the suspension and back end, and have had the W brace replaced as it essentially disintegrated. One local garage has told me that its basically a ticking time bomb, the sub frame connection to the main frame are too far gone and the bolts (or brackets?) that hold the rear bumper in place are practically non existent and his advice was to scrap it and move on which clearly I do not want to do and sounds more like someone who just doesn't want to do the work. Another garage who is someone I trust and has worked on my cars since ive been in Nottingham has disagreed, saying yes the corrosion is bad and there is a plate behind behind the sub frame which is seriously in bad shape but doesn't look to be structural. The issue is the creaking noise is getting worse and it rattles like mad going over any kind of bump in the road and I am super paranoid about it potentially being as bad as the first garage made out. Any and all advice on either some things I could do myself (without a lift and limited skills!) or somewhere near(ish) Nottingham when I could get some clear advice on the issue and who would be willing to take on the work (provided costs are reasonable - which I expect won't be cheap, but am prepared to invest as I love the bloody car) Thanks for reading, and in advance for any and all suggestions. Note my car is an 04 UK model, not modified (other than uprated exhaust).
Jack94
Tarmacsportz are very knowledgeable with zeds, and pretty close to you (Derby). They should be able to diagnose your problem and supply whatever replacement parts are needed.
